I loved Sonic Underground when I was a kid but have never forgiven them for not actually ending it.

Sonic Underground holds a weird but special place in my heart.

This was the Sonic cartoon I was familiar with. One of many animated series that never had an actual Ending to the story. One of the stories that created my mistrust of animated narrative series which still lingers.

The "Yes, it is a world with chili dogs but, also stakes." line was such a good pun and the fact that Dan just never hangs on it and keeps going was just perfect writing/performing.

Man, I have vague memories of this, but when you spell out the lore, it's clear the writers were given COMPLETE free reign to change/add to backstories as they wished. I want to see a battle to the death between the person who wrote the original Western Sonic The Hedgehog Bible and the Loremaster of Sonic Underground.

🎶 They seek their mother, she knows they do! Is it time? If she only knew! Will the prophecy come true!??🎶 It’s goofy and sometimes ugly but I still love it!

Out of all the Sonic cartoons I have seen so far. I consider Underground the oddest of the bunch.

For me the timing couldn't have been worse to even attempt to see this show on broadcast. I did encounter the tie-in promotion at Denney's, but it was swept away by the oncoming tide that was the Sonic Adventure redesign. A redesign that not even Archie Sonic could avoid.

Sonic underground was my daughter's show. She'd dvr them and watch them all day. So this show holds a spot in my heart.

The world may have forgotten Sonic Underground, but I have not! I never finished the show because it scared the bajeezus out of me.

In the Archie Comics iteration of Sonic the Hedgehog, there was an ongoing storyline titled, “Mobius: 25 Years Later,” where the main characters were (as the title suggests) were down the road. In that storyline, Sonic and Sally had married and assumed the throne as king and queen, and had a pair of twins together. The twins were named Sonia and Manik, but they looked nothing like their Sonic Underground counterparts: Manik looked like his dad but with a gap in his teeth (and relished being a prince), while Sonia took more after her mother (and thensome).

Even though they were likely in different studios during recording... it's surreal Jaleel did a show with Garry Chalk, Sam Vincent and Brian Drummond.

I was such a fan of DIC as a child its so upsetting to hear how scummy the company was

Sometime in the 2000s this was on around 6 AM while I was getting ready for school. I only ever saw 1 episode, and it was about Robotnik using a robot hairdresser to hypnotize clients into revealing secret information. I was a slightly older kid at that point, and I wrote the show off as being weird and never tuned in again. Weird is still memorable, though.

I wish that a second season would happen to sonic and his siblings to reunited with their mom once and for all. 😀👍

I remember this series very fondly from my childhood. I even had a little bit of a screen crush on Sonia. I loved her spiky hair. I was very curious about punk girls as a preteen. The songs were fairly good. Not all of them were amazing but some were fairly catchy. I’m always going to consider this series a special part of the Sonic multiverse!

Great video, been rewatch sonic underground recently on episode 15 atm (sonic tonic)

Franchise Killer: It was the last Sonic cartoon to be produced by DIC Entertainment, as they lost the Sonic TV rights not long after the show ended and left the West without a Sonic cartoon for 15 years (barring Sonic X, a Japanese production exported overseas by 4Kids Entertainment). When Sonic Boom came around, it ended up being co-produced in-house by Sega of America. Sadly, not even that was enough and since that series got screwed by CN, all Sonic animation has been in short-form and made largely in-house. Until 2022: when Sega partnered with Man of Action Studios and WildBrain (the current owner of a majority of DIC's back catalogue) to produce Sonic Prime for Netflix.

Poor Ben Hurst. He really tried to make Sonic Underground Special. He originally tried to make it into Sat Am Season 3 by having it set after a five year time skip with a Band made up of Bunnie, Antoinne, and Tails in the background to the REAL plot to give DICkheads the music leaning they wanted but they INSISTED on something new.
