It's a big shame that GM dropped out of Australia when they did. If they had stayed, imagine what they could have achieved . My first car was the first model Holden. I now own a 2010 VE Commodore, arguably the best they made. Good video. Thanks
  • I'm in the club with an '09.5 G8-GT with 22K on it. I'm 84 YO so I love my ride and respect it. Bought it in '08 new after i gave my 68 GTO conv. to my son. Keep up your message, you make big sense...
  • As a 2008 G8GT owner this was a great video. Have had similar issues with mine and have owned it since 36k at 17 years old. I am now 28 years old and I’m still driving here proudly at 169k. She has been my daily driver since then and I can’t express how much I love the car. With some work done and added HP she is the demon I will never get rid of. Doing my own work over the years, I’ve only ran into minor engine issues like injectors. Believe it or not, the carrier bearing is actually original to the car. I will be replacing it within the next oil change as per there’s a small shake now, but honestly nothing major. I’ve had 2 accidents in the car….. BUT I was rear ended twice!!! My body shop had no problem getting parts believe it or not, so I’ve been very lucky owning this car my whole life. Finally will be buying another car as a new daily driver, but you must be crazy if you think I’d trade in the G8. She’s with me forever. I want to buy a lower mileage one as a toy and drop some serious power into her like my 20 year old self wanted but couldn’t afford lol. Love these cars and love the community that comes with owning them. Always so stoked when I see another one and honk like crazy. NJ, has a few of them driving around! Thanks for all the added info that was unknown and new things to watch for! Your GXP is GORGEOUS. Get out and drive her 😉

I really enjoyed your video. I have a Liquid Red '09 G8 GT that I bought new off the dealer's lot. My then wife and I were retired and for the first couple of years it was a road car and spent most of the time in the garage. As I recall it had about 30K on it when my wife died. I met a new, younger lady who is still in the workforce and began driving her to and from work. The miles piled up and now it has 189K on it but is now back to being a once-in-awhile driver. I'm too old to want to work on cars anymore so it's always been dealer-serviced. They have been great and I became friends with my service advisor who discounts their labor rate and will price match parts from online sources. I've never rear-ended anyone but I've been rear-ended twice. I put VMR wheels on it, otherwise it's stock. I've replaced the harmonic balancer and the struts once and had the dreaded DOD cam follower failure, but not until about 170K. We have emissions testing here in AZ so I didn't do the delete at that time. Other than that it's been amazing. It still gets inquiring looks on the street and even though I'm pushing 79, it still lives in the fast lane on the Interstate.

Great information brother. This is from a daily driven 09GT owner. Everyone here that are G8 owners we have something special. Keep the videos rolling.👍

Nice video!! I drive one but with the wheel on the correct side lol, i have a black 2008 SS-V and love it to bit's, Maintenance is the key to keeping any car on the road and being a sensible driver helps too. Parts are much easier for us to get here, so it is easier for us to keep them on the road, i also worked in a factory that made parts for these cars like the door trims and many other parts. Keep the video's coming mate. 👍

I’ve had my base 2008 since new off the showroom floor. So far after 110K miles not much trouble. Replaced TPMS sensors, some other minor repairs. Still like mine.

Ive been looking for a video the explains all the issues with the G8 all in one neatly wrapped video and this is it, thanks 🤘
  • I’m so glad I saw this video. Almost all of these are things that broke on mine. I also have found out why there is a thumping coming from my driveshaft. Thank you.
  • I own a 09 white g8 gt, everytime I open the garage and say look at that sexy bish lol
  • This was a very helpful and informative video. This helped me better understand how to take care of this car and things I need to look out for and give me a better understanding on how to take care of this car. Definitely a 5 star review on my end

I have the UK version, which is marketed here by Vauxhall, mine is a Supercharged 2009 6.2 ltr with a 650 HP remap which was done remotely from Australia by one of the top Holden tuners, has to be done on a dyno.....absolute beast to drive!

Bought G8 08 base fully loaded last year 96000 miles. Just needed a car. Super fun for a stock v6. I have never seen another one on the road. Your video explains why :)
  • Thank You kindly, your review was spot on. I look forward to seeing more of your great content. 💙🇭🇲💙

As a GXP owner since 2009 I can say you made a great video. I have been lucky enough to only come across 3 issues you have mentioned. Headliner, suspension and carrier bearing. Other than that, it has been the best car I have ever owned. Everyone compliments my car. I keep it looking brand spanking new. Anyone able to get one is lucky since there aren't many around. Fixing this car / maintenance is hella expensive. Especially all the tires I always have to replace. I encourage you to unlock your VIM and install a rear camera if you haven't yet. It's amazing what you can see on your radio screen.

Thank you for this video it’s actually really cool I was just sitting here thinking I wanna get one of these cars but I’m not exactly sure what the nuances are between them you know so it’s nice to know that there’s someone out there that actually knows what the fuck they’re doing and is able to inform us and what’s going on I’m gonna get one soon so appreciate I’ll be in touch later bud
