I wish they didnāt try to make a āOh plot twist heās actually telling the story as an adult to his daughterā and then completely ruin everything by confusing the story, nothing he said actually happened and another ādouble plot twist! The daughter has a kid and Orion married his crush!ā Like it was so confusing and I wasnāt able to relate to the characters anymore š¤¦š¾āāļø

IT LITERALLY WOULD'VE JUST BEEN BETTER IF THERE WAS JUST A REGULAR STORY WITHOUT ORION TELLING IT TO THE GIRL.
-
What angers me the most is how they just targeted the dark and not the other fears of orion, really messed up there
-
I thought it was a good, BUT THE ENDING OF THE MOVIE was absolutelyā¦ HORRIBLE! Like? At the end it gets so confusing, it just felt so rushed, but itās still better than MegaMind 2 (by end I mean the last ten minutes or more)

I thought this movie would be bad after the reveal that it's a story but at the end it's a family passing a story down until the last kid used his child wonder and makes a bad ending but good for a kid, it's beautiful

I was so excited for this movie when I saw the trailer but then that- DAMNED SCENE OF HIM AND HIS DAUGHTER HAPPENS AND it just feels like all the magic the film was setting up just gets totally washed away šš

THE BEGINNING WAS SO GOOD UNTIL THE FRICKIN SELF INSERT. WHY DREAMWORKS???? WHY??????? MOM IM FAMOUS

The whole idea of him telling his daughter the story would have been fine if it was real. It did happen and he's telling his daughter about his experience to help her.

They could have fixed this in one of two ways... 1. Have a scene at the start of the movie that establishes the fact that he's telling the story to his daughter, or 2. Wait to reveal that its just a story until the very end of the movie. The premise of the story just kinda shifts halfway through so they could have this new meta storyline. They tried to have their cake and eat it too.

I fully agree with you. The minute they showed this was a fake story, that kind of ruined it for me. But I tried to give it a chance thinking that once the story ended Hypatia would still be scared of the dark. Only for Dark himself to show up a few minutes later, and have her realize the story her dad was telling really was true. But no, they decided to keep it fake, and add a disoriented story plots that didnāt make much sense. I think I wouldāve actually liked this movie if Hypatia and later Tiko hadnāt interfered in the story, and adding themselves into it as well. That just didnāt sit well with me.

the second the daughter appeared i knew the movie was gonna go downhill, i havent even watched this but i know we are thinking the same thing

It sounds like this movie's biggest flaw is that Orion telling his daughter a bedtime story about conquering one's fears, was written as a mid-point twist. If the movie had begun with Orion telling the bedtime story to his daughter, the movie would probably be more cohesive.

I feel like it would be so much better if he told his daughter it was a story, but at the end scene when heās really old and heās sitting all alone on the balcony, I wish dark popped up it was like āhey kid, itās been a whileā. And then Orion just smiles in the movie ends! That would have been so good!

The things that could inprove and fix in this movie 1.The story 2.the plot twists 3.the ending 4.the other entities 5.a magical land 5.cool dark entity vs light entity lore Thats it,thats how i fix this movie

Onion and the dark

the ending felt like a kid version of Rick and Morty

I think that adult Orion is saying āitās not realā is because he doesnāt want his daughter to try to go on the same goose chase of facelift fears that he has been on. And I also think that the reason why heās still āafriad of the darkā is because he is still a bit unsettled by it but is not as scared of dark and the others anymore or, atleast not as much as before.

if they never added the old orion part and hypatia and the random time boy then this movie couldve been a 7.7 out of 10
-
Brooo, I agree so much!!! I loved the movie until the ending. The ending ruined it so muchā¦

Over the past 10 years i ended up learning to never have much expectations with DreamWorks movies...
