Props to you for not backing down on the convo whatsoever! You helped me to convince my mom to let my rabbits indoors and let them have their own space, and let me tell you, I have never seen them happier and more bonded to me EVER! Thanks Lorelei ❤️
  • Navaeh’s mom says she like “hard evidence” and that she likes to see research but it’s evident that she hasn’t even done any research of HER OWN. my dad is the same way he told me rabbits belong outside and that it’s not normal for them to be inside pets… just stuck in their ways and are not willing to learn anything new! It’s so terrible to just get a rabbit and not do any research into proper rabbit care.
  • I love how careful you were being when talking to her mom, so she wouldn’t get upset. That probably made her not want to hang up on you or something

The day after i brought my bunny, my mom and dad had an argument over something and my father was like "come out, let's talk outside, if we scream, the bunny can die of a heart attack". That was so sweet lol.
  • @SugaMot
The thing is, even if there aren't any visible predators outside, bunnies are still susceptible to mites and parasites.

The conversation was very frustrating for me. I live in the Midwest, where there are, unfortunately, a lot of rabbit breeding places, and every kid in 4H raises and shows rabbits. It's hard to argue with people who don't want to or can't see how things have changed. It used to be common for dogs to live outdoors only, and now it's much more common for them to live mostly indoors. Same with cats (though sadly plenty of people still let their cats roam free too.) I hope that you gave that family something to think about. I know in other countries it's safer (temp wise, at least) to keep rabbits and guinea pigs outside, but it still seems risky to me.

You handled the call very well and professionally! The mom is just set in her ways and opinions. Dark room? Open the dang window. Isolated still, let bunny out of room while daughter is gone. Where there's a will there is a way. That mom doesn't have the will.
  • You're a legend and I cannot even believe how calm and collected you are. In all the videos I've watched of you dealing with others, you always have the most professional and respectful demeanor, it's absolutely incredible. I could NEVER.....
  • THIS COULD BE A TELEVISION SHOW ON ANIMAL PLANET !!!!! This series is that fun to watch !!! And spread awareness for bunny adoption !!! 🐰
  • "When theres a will theres a way" so true. My mom was thinking of putting my bun in a cage before watching Lennons channel with me. Thanks much for spreading love and help to these sweet babies. Because of this channel so much bunnies are happy and living like kings and queens. Mine surely is! Thanks Lennon and Lorelei. Love from Trinidad and Tobago. ✌💜

That phone call was a demonstration of the incredible commitment you have towards the welfare of rabbits 🐇🐇
  • I appreciate you including the call. It was really frustrating, but I think you gave a great demonstration of healthy conflict. You held your ground, were respectful, and didn’t react to her defensiveness. ❤️

It’s disappointing when the parent, who should be fully responsible for every animal in the house if there child is a minor(not necessarily for feeding, cleaning, etc. depending on the situation) refuses to do the necessary research and listen to their child when they are telling them that their care is improper. It’s something I’ve had to deal with for years and it’s so frustrating not being able to do anything when I knew my buns weren’t happy. I’m just glad I’ve finally been able to give my bun decent proper care
  • @daisysweets1794
When she said the rabbit is happier outside she didn't mention any signs of that like it doing more binkies or running around. She said "inside it chewed the carpet" "there were pellets everywhere". Which basically means SHE'S happier with it outside. That's what she was describing.
  • @flister8701
“I need hard evidence that predators exist” lmfao
  • @macieg4052
I honestly appreciate your patience so much. You’re doing a hard job educating people on proper rabbit care! Just wish people would do their own research before getting the rabbit to prevent things like this, seems crazy to me getting an animal and not knowing how to care for it properly beforehand 😵‍💫

Bless you. I can't imagine the emotional weight of producing this video, seriously. I'm sweating just not getting past the intro. I tried to intervene with a friend of a friend who found a bunny and "rescued" her by keeping her enclosed in an ex-pen but outside. Needless to say, it did not end well and the friend called me sobbing. You're doing so much preventing such heartbreak in bunnies and their hooman companions!
  • I had dogs that cornered a wild rabbit outside, before I could get my dogs away from the rabbit, it let out one scream and died of a heart attack. I felt so awful. So, YES, they can die of a heart attack when confronted by a predator. I had to call a wild rabbit rescue to pick up the bunnies' babies, so that they would survive. Enjoying the videos!
  • That phone call was SO STRESSFUL, OMG. You are so patient and I could see you struggle sometimes, I would have broken down and cried several times already. So much respect for you for getting through that and not backing down (and still staying respectful)!
