Oh shit I guess I'll remove my brakes so I don't kill myself while I drive at 150 mph

"as the clutch plate slips on the gearbox shaft". .. The clutch plate is connected to the gearbox shaft via means of splines in the middle of the disk. So, the clutch plate won't slip on the gearbox shaft but the flywheel

Fun fact: there is a thing called octane booster. It's a small bottle that just contains something to boost your octane. (i don't know what it is, but chrisfix made a video about that) so if you fill your car with the wrong fuel you can just empty the bottle in there and you can go. You can usually get it at a gas station but if the one you're at doesn't have that then just take it easy and don't full throttle on the way to the next gas station. this has saved my life a couple of times!
  • don't freak out about resting on the shifter. This only applies to cars with physical shifters that are directly tied to the gearbox. If you have a 2017 Audi or newer you are fine. Also with a Prius and some Volvos. Just make sure your shifter returns to the rest position when in gear. If it stays where you leave it then it can cause harm.
  • 1. I recently had an argument with guys here saying you don't need to warm up your engine so I'm glad you said this. 2. People with sports cars or low-profile tires are especially at risk for potholes and speedbumps. you can even damage the rims.
  • I use high performance synthetic brake fluid, and high performance brake parts, that's slotted and cross drilled, it works wonderful, I am not worried about brake fade, heat, etc. Also I am using high performance tires too.
  • Here is another winter startup tip. Before you start the engine, turn the key to power only the electronics and make sure all accessories like the radio and defrosters are off. Doing that will allow the battery to achieve a full circuit and allow the temperature senosors to analyze the weather conditions and the fuel pump to pressure up the system (faint buzzing noise) Let the fuel pump prime the cylinders til it shuts off. Having a full circuit before you start the engine will reduce strain on the battery and your starter and help those critical components last longer. As for a cold start, it won’t harm the engine once it starts and if it sounds like it will stall, giving a slight “blip” of the throttle (only once) will make sure there is enough fuel going into the cylinders

Rotaries need to be revved to the moon when first started because they pump in more oil at high rpms and oil through the intake, where other engines pump it, and have trouble pumping it at startup due to how thick cold oil is, but rotaries again pump more oil at higher rpms. It also helps re seat the piston seals allowing the engine to run more efficiently faster
