1914 marked the beginning of a series of catastrophic political and social changes that would lead to, amongst other things, the abolishment of the Islamic Caliphate and the division of Muslim lands into the modern countries of the Middle East that we are all familiar with.

Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. Muslims MUST learn the bitter realities that took place one hundred years ago, from the deceit and false promises of European powers, to the betrayals and political intrigues by local Muslim leaders (some of whose descendants continue to rule in that region to this day).

In this highly provocative and well-researched lecture, Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi enlightens us regarding the major events that set the stage for the modern Muslim world. You'll be enthralled - we guarantee it! Watch and then SHARE with others.

I am from Hyderabad. The Nizam of Hyderabad was the richest of his time, he also was a great educator. Established Universities , Medical colleges Engineering colleges etc. He also supported it is said with 300 pounds per month stipend to the deposed Turkish Caliphs. He was quite generous pillar of support to ummate Mohammadi. He supported the new fledgling state of Pakistan. I am a product of his Osmania University ,named after him. Practised medicine in USA for 40 yrs and retd. now. Alhamdulillah.

A CORRECTION: Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was not the commander-in-chief of the Ottomans in Gallipoli, he was a colonel commanding Regiment 57. May Allah SWT increase you in knowledge, elevate your station in both worlds, and protect you from the evil eye and all dangers of fame, dear Brother Yasir. Wa's-salaam.

wow!!! sometimes i ask, why does Allah allow all the things that is happening to this umma? and after watching this lecture it has become more clear to me that it is our own failure, greed and disunity that led to our disgrace and humiliation. but more importantly it had helped me understand that if we can revive that unity and love for this umma, there is no way that we can't restore our dignity and honor once again......jkl sheikh and may Allah reward you abundantly for your excellent work..ameen

Awesome. Fascinating lecture. As a Indian it was eye opening to learn WW1 from muslim point of view. Indeed I can see where all that muslim anger comes from. So much unkept promises made to them
  • I, as a "turk", dont see any Arab betrayal. I just see british deception. Wake up brothers! The discussions and insulting tones of yours is exactly what they wanted to do and they have accomplished it in past. So don't fall for the same mistake. A believer can never fall into the same trick twice!

Eyeopening! I am Kazakh, and find many disgusting comments on what is going on in Palestine right now in 2021. I think, it is caused by lack of kholedge. Would be great if someone translates full lecture to Russian

Just WOW 😲😲, an Incredible lecture from an incredible Lecturer. What an awesome piece of history, so much knowledge so well narrated. A must for every Muslim. At 48, i had a very limited knowledge of the chronology of events. So many things mixed up in my head, from movies, folklore, biased history books, and old wives tales. A very deep thank you Sheikh Qhadi for such a beautiful piece. His knowledge, style and the way he presents things is so mesmerizing....once you start listening, you can not stop. Don't hesitate to pause, go back, listen, go back and listen again to really grasp the whole story.
