Gacha Life Edit (?) Because why not (Read Description) #6

I just want to ask every Gacha artists out there a question. Why is drawing a Gacha character called an edit? (Pray for my grammar) I've been wondering about this for a long time now ever since I first came to the Gacha community. In my opinion or own understanding, it's called an 'EDIT' because you'll add more color such as shading and highlights to the character while also changing some things. Am I correct?
