When the war broke out, our brewery in Lwówek had already existed for 79 years. We exist to this day and we are the oldest brewery in Poland from 1209.

Let's appreciate the military history of Poland. Thanks for this video. The Poles and Hungarians learned. The Horde was not invincible.

As an American of Polish Hungarian descent. I served in the U.S Army Cavalry. We still use red and white cavalry flags as a tribute to Polish Cavalry.

Hungary and Poland have been joint at the hip for a millenium. Some of our best kings came from Hungary.

0:40: it’s like the real life version of “Gondor calls for aid!” Love the history of alliances between Poland & Hungary!

Thanks for posting this. So little history of Poland is known on YT.

The Mongol invasion of Poland is seldom covered to any relevant extent and this documentary was excellent on describing the conflict and stories of Leszek and Nogai. Thank you.

Few months ago, I made a discovery of unknown, small castle/fortification on top of one of the hills near Łagów. Characteristics of that fortification was typical to XII-XIII century. But that is not all - I manage to find a mongol-type arrowhead, inside remains of walls of that castle, wich also can be dated to around XIII century. Clearly, that fortification was besieged or at least Mongols tried to took it by force. Ofcourse, I submitted my discoveries to local archeologist responsible for that area. He confirmed my assumptions about age of that castle remains and arrowhead, and now I am proud to be official doscoverer of previously unknown castle remains :)

I do not know about the history education in Poland, but in Hungary just the lost battles at Muhi and Legnica are educated in 1241, not the second and third mongol invasion, when the mongols lost in both countries.

One more time Poland, with the help of Hungary, once again saved and spared the blood of the Western Europe and saved the European civilization.
