  • Why is the video so washed out ? It’s hard to see the colors . Can you do a coastal video for colors for north facing rooms

We are building a coastal craftsman and I learned a big lesson about lighting and trim color the hard way! We had rainwashed in our bedroom in our old house with Sherwin Williams Creamy trim and cabin grade hickory floors. Rainwashed leaned more blue and it was beautiful. I decided to use the same color in the new home. However, my trim paint is BM Super white and the lighting is cast more from the west (although we still get a decent amount of east facing light. Anyway, rainwashed can appear to be a sage green in certain times of the day!!!! It’s not the color I was going for in that space so we are repainting with SW Topsail (which is a beautiful calming blue). It looks great with our trim, our white oak flooring and the Carrara marble in our bathroom. I’m a huge fan of coastal spa like colors!

I tried SW Niebla Azul and Fresh Idea in my west-facing bathroom when refreshing my bathroom last year. I have ivory tiles on my shower walls and tile tub surround. You are absolutely right that beige and similar off whites will look dirty and muddy with spa-like colors. I am convinced spa-like colors are not good with non-white fixed elements.
  • Let me know what you think of spa-like paint colors and or your experience painting your home with spa-like paint colors.

I love the beach glass color. In west facing light, will it favor green or blue? I’m trying to find a bedroom color for my Lakehouse to match hanging aqua blue lights from pottery barn. Comforters are bluish greenish.

Thank you so much for the tips. I have a marble floor with soft beige/grey veins that look very dull under warm light. I am currently making painting decisions for my NE master spa bathroom, it has a large window but the different shades are driving me crazy. My goal is to make it airy and clean, my fixtures are black, white, and soft beige. Are Silver Marlin, gray cashmere, and quiet moments good choices?
  • You didn't mention what trim paint goes well with SW Rainwashed. Please advise. Thank you.
