BMW i4 M50 headlights test

Hi Bjorn, for your information, BMW laserlight headlamp has a separate high beam and laserlight. Normally, you will only get the normal high beam and that is all you got when you manually turn on the highbeam at the farm house. For laserlight to activate in addition to the highbeam, you have to be on auto highbeam, driving faster than 60kmh, on a dark road with very few lights around and finally, laserlight is also gps enabled and will only activate when gps indicates suitable road. I find the best way to activate laserlight is to drive late at night on a very dark and straight stretch of road. I have it on my G05 and believe me you will notice when it comes on in addition to the high beam. I don't think you actually activated it at all during this test. Road was way too bendy. I am sure you will experience it over the next few days. Also, the laserlight would not have activated when you were following the EQC so that was all the normal adaptive high beam without the laserlight.

Both the headlights simultaneously must tilt up or down, as per the upward or downward inclination of the road, so that the road is properly lit always.

In my book that eqc driver was not slow. Smooth and welI placed. Decent pace. Good driver for sure.

Congratulations and thank you. I have a suggestion that, the inner headlight must be turning alongwith the steering wheel. Inner wheel means, the left wheel when turning to the left and vice versa, so that the new area is lit in advance for safer travel.

I have this adaptive turning lights in my current Opel Insignia. Finally in March my Model 3 is arriving but I know, that I will miss these turning curve headlights.

Laser boost will add to the high beam only from 60 km/hour and up. Ordinary LED high beam below 60, laser boost from 60 and up - like and old school 1000 meter. Interpreted from the manual. BMW has some quirks.

ok nice review, but I heard the Kia EV6 top trim has Active Matrix head lights, and also the Iconic 5 AWD top trim here in Canada have LED Projection head lights, not the standard LED that you talked about during your headlight comments.
