  • Congratulations on 1k! I have the previous version of the pump. It works pretty well. Loud though but it beats blowing it up old school. The new one seems pricey. The false advertising sucks. They conveniently left out the battery weight. Always look at the fine print. lol. I think having a pump is worth it. I’m just not sure if this one is since the one I have has the light.

I was on the fence on this. Ty for the review.

Agree with not upgrading from flextail 2; we like the light option, not concerned about the ~1.6 ounce difference, don't need to spend the extra $. However, as sorta eluded to by a couple other comments and according to another youtuber who had the item in hand, the pump has upgraded fittings which allows the pump to be used without holding onto it. This might be important to some. We put a couple layers of electrical tape around the fitting for our pads (nemo tensor and rei helix...same fitting), as recommended by another youtuber; this worked great and we don't have to hold onto the pump. Flextail would've served themselves well to be more straightforward with the weight and say "nearly half the weight of the flextail 2". The availability of upgraded fittings for tiny pump 2 would also be a nice option, but likely doesn't drive sales of the newer pump.

Great video. Mine ships on 11/20 lol. I think one of the best features is the adapters don’t fall apart like the last version. I was still using pads that have the really old valve system. I can do without the light. I’ve had the old one get turned on in my pack which caused me to add a firm sided case to the pump carrying system which added another 3 oz. So this pump will save me 4 oz and I can put it on and not wreck my back holding it in place. A bit gimmicky for sure, especially the way they are advertising it as 1.2 oz.

I have the original where the air goes out from the side. I'm good. I use the light a lot more than the pump part itself. The battery life is pretty great. If I wanted so save weight, I'd probably ditch it and use the nylofume packliner as a pump sack.
  • My current Flextail doesn't have a light and I have to hold it the whole time inflating. So this checks my boxes. I also replaced my 10K battery bank for a Nitecore Gen 2 carbon and that saves me 3.5oz. Chipping away. Last year dropped close to 10lbs switching to Dyneema tent, pack and other miscellaneous items.

I had been thinking I’d get a pump because I was told it makes life easier inflating a pad at high altitudes but having inflated my pad at altitude with a pump sack and it not causing me to be short of breath, I’m just fine using a pump sack.

totally agree not worth upgrading if you already have an older version.

The main difference I’ve heard is the sound, this new one is a good bit quieter than the others. Along with weight and rubber nozzles. If that means anything to you,,,
