Simone Biles Overcomes Calf Injury to Dominate Paris Olympics Qualifier
Simone Biles, the greatest gymnast of all time, faced a challenging moment during the gymnastics qualifiers at the Paris Olympics. Despite suffering a left calf injury during her warm-up for the floor exercise, Biles showcased her incredible resilience and dominance.
After a near-flawless performance on the beam, Biles felt pain in her calf but powered through with a high-difficulty floor routine, scoring an impressive 14.600. This remarkable score put her in first place in the competition.
Biles continued her outstanding performance with a 15.300 on vault, the highest score at the time, and a competition-best 14.733 on beam. Although she scored 14.333 on bars, which might not be enough for the finals, her overall all-around score of 59.566 was the best after two subdivisions.
Her coach, Cecile Landi, confirmed that the pain was not a major concern, and Biles is expected to continue competing in the Games.
