LYRICS

I wish I found some better sounds no one’s ever heard,
I wish I had a better voice that sang some better words,
I wish I found some chords in an order that is new,
I wish I didn't have to rhyme every time I sang,

I was told when I get older all my fears would shrink,
But now I’m insecure and I care what people think.
My name’s ‘Blurryface’ and I care what you think

Wish we could turn back time, to the good ol’ days,
When our momma sang us to sleep but now we’re stressed out.

Sometimes a certain smell will take me back to when I was young,
How come I’m never able to identify where it’s coming from,
I’d make a candle out of it if I ever found it,
Try to sell it, never sell out of it, I’d probably only sell one,

It’d be to my brother, ‘cause we have the same nose,
Same clothes homegrown a stone’s throw from a creek we used to roam,
But it would remind us of when nothing really mattered,
Out of student loans and treehouse homes we all would take the latter.

My name’s ‘Blurryface’ and I care what you think

Wish we could turn back time, to the good ol’ days,
When our momma sang us to sleep but now we’re stressed out.

We used to play pretend, give each other different names,
We would build a rocket ship and then we’d fly it far away,
Used to dream of outer space but now they’re laughing at our face,
Saying, “wake up, you need to make money."

Wish we could turn back time, to the good ol’ days,
When our momma sang us to sleep but now we’re stressed out.

I remember when I would sing this, I still can’t believe it’s been 7 years. This still hits hard

As kids, you sing it for hours on end.
As adults, you relate to it in ways you can’t imagine.

This song hits hard. I hope people in the coming years can respect this song as much as I do...
  • when this first came out it was such a big hit, they played it in radio, malls, stores for a couple years, i didn't pay much attention to it, just another catchy song that im sick of hearing all the time, but the older i get the harder it hits, and after 7 years i think i now can really appreciate it, and damn it's been 7 YEARS?!

This song feels very special to me. When my mom and dad divorced, my sister was the only one who could hold me while I didn't understand what was going on. So when me and my sister were packing up our things to move to my Grandma's house with my mom, my sister would turn this music video on and play it repeatedly. I recently asked her why she would always play this video, and she said it gave her nostalgia from when our parents were together, but now when I watch this video, it gives me nostalgia of when our parents were apart and me and my sister had the strongest relationship together in the family.

I remember finding this song when I was 14, I showed it to my dad and it became his favorite song for a while, we used to listen to it together a lot. Now it has been a year ago since he passed away and I just found this again. Breaks my heart but also brings up so many beautiful memories with him ❤

  • MetaFilmJunkie
This song came out when I was 14 and I would sing it for fun, listening to it as a 21 year old, I now realise the meaning behind it, I wish I could turn back time and go back to the good old days, but I'm about to finish University and start working, now I'm stressed out.
