5 star is incredibly reliable. And I donโ€™t have any benefit for saying that. Just like livernois. They have these EB tunes down. I had 120000 on my last EB tuned and not a mechanical issue

Ford Engineers: Turbo everything... Dodge Engineers: V8 everything... Chevy Engineers: We don't know what we're doin... Gmc Engineers: We got trucks...?
  • @Droopy578
Turbos make a V6 fast. But a naturally aspirated V8, is always a beautiful sound, PERIOD !!
  • The ability to throw a literal light whale to 60 in 5 seconds or less is unnervingly incredible. Can't wait for the crazy police chases in a few years

How much horsepower should our new family suv have Dodge: yes
  • Imagine pulling up on a Civic at a light in your Ford explorer towing a wholeass boat and then walking it ๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€

In 30 years when these are clapped out, I'll finally be able to afford one.

Now get the Durango tuned by Greene Racing and test them again.

Man...The way the Explorer ST launches is so satisfying, I love the way the front lifts up when it launches. Reminds me of a Range Rover Sport SVR.

Sooo 4.8 sec on a TUNED st or 5.01 on hemi... I'd pick v8 all day

Just imagine how much power you would gain if you upgraded the intercoolers, air intake, down pipes and exhaust along with the tune. Their claimed 100 horsepower gain at the wheels equals about 525-550 horsepower at the crank if not more. Just with a tune.

@ $13,000 less, Iโ€™d spend the $600 on the ST and take the fuel economy too!
  • @Macsleuth
Love both of them. Nice to know there are tunes out there that can wake up the Ford. Would love to see a tuned SRT as well.

I have a 2013 Ford Explorer with over 460,000 miles on it. I purchased it as a family hauler with about 60,000 miles on it. I unintentionally had to use it as a courier vehicle for 97% of those miles. I haven't changed any major parts or had any major parts failures!?!?! I must have one of the best built fords on the planet!

I have to admit, I'm super impressed that not only did the ford win but all of that extra HP was gained for $600. A new king has arrived.
