  • Tom was speaking for all of us 40-50 year olds who were introduced to Rock n Roll through Kiss. He did a perfect job.
  • @rockingbirdey
Tom Morello probably gave one of the best induction ever for anyone
  • I knew Tom was a KISS fan, but I wouldn't have thought he would make a good speech to put KISS in the Hall of Fame. But damn. Perfection.
  • @mykylc
It's a beautiful thing when a true fan gets the chance to speak and introduce the band that is being inducted.
  • @HelloHelloZG
Tom gave the best induction speech I've ever heard.
  • @jcsman4244
Ace Frehley and Peter Criss got the most applause - love it.
  • @aafris
You had to be there in the 1970s to truly understand how big and impactful KISS was. If you were a kid like me back then, KISS basically ruled the world.
  • @chrisclark3480
13:55 "You made them famous" Damn right he did. Ace is a fucking LEGEND. Always will be until the day he's put in the ground.
  • @galodonoso4552
Tom Morello is an authentic soldier of the KISS army. What a great passionate speech, I love it
  • @ceeceety2320
I love that Paul mentioned The Yardbirds and Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, Sly and the Family Stone,etc....That's what Rock and Roll is all about, not forgetting what inspired you. Great speeches from all these guys!
  • @nate-ds9tg
Lol anyone notice how Peter and Ace got louder cheers than Paul and Gene? lmao
  • When I was a teenager, I was in foster homes. I loved Kiss. I was originally from New York and my real parents worked in hospitals in the Bronx. So I knew the area. From a fan mag, I found out that Ace grew up in the Bronx by the Grande Concourse. So, not knowing any better, I called information and asked for the phone # of Frehley. They had no number but they had an address that was Aces mother's name. I wrote her a letter - fan sort of stuff like did Ace leave any things there that you could send me; etc. But then I had the bright idea to ask her about herself. I taped a dime to the letter and said that that was so she could send me a picture of herself. I thought this might help to get a response. Well, I sent it then forgot all about it. Then one day I got this envelope that had Frehley as a return address. She was very sweet and thanked me for the dime and she sent me a xeroxed copy of a pic taken at parents night at Madison Square Garden with the rest of the band. She told me that Aces things were not in her home anymore. She said that Ace would stay inside and practice all the time while all the other kids were outside playing. She said if I worked real hard I could be great, to. That letter meant a great deal to me under the circumstances and I still remember it. I saw this video and remember what it was to be a Kiss fan. An outcast but you felt strongly about them. People acted like you were crazy for liking them. But you listened to the first Alive album like it was a holy relic. I thought I would share this story for the first time on here. Where I thought some people could appreciate it. Rock and Roll all night and treat yourself like #1.

Ace Frehley my number one GUITAR HERO. Thank you, ACE for have inspired me play guitar.
  • @toddtheref
Tom Morello achieved legend status here. He is clearly as big a fan of the original Kiss as I am. I am grateful to Tom for giving the hands down best induction in Rock N Roll Hall of Fame history.
  • @electricalron
It's been 8-years since this speech and I still get goosebumps.
