  • My Father was a Korean Conflict veteran from 1951 to 1954 and was shot in his hip as Chief Pretty Officer 1st Class. He lad lung cancer and the doctor's did nothing but says he was going to be fine. Died on October 17, 2009 and all the doctor would say is you not going to sue us? Keep living day by day and never give up! The power is yours not the doctor's !
  • Thank you Mark for sharing your experience to help other to protect our health is AWESOME

Mark you are a genuinely good man, with a story worth telling and hopefully a long life to live. You will be in my prayers. Please recover quickly and fully. If there is anyway that I could be of help to you I will do my best.

Mark, thank you for sharing your story and how it has changed your perspective on living every day to the fullest. Your thoughts on the precious commodity of time rang true to me as we never know how much time we have to enjoy our family, friends, and many blessings. Your positive attitude is an inspiration to all of us.
  • Mark You are an absolute inspiration. I hope and pray that your challenges are less. Take care and stay well. Vasinthie šŸ¤—
  • Hi Mark, Great job with your talk! You speak from your heart and you speak for so many others that are facing a similar journey. Thank you for your awareness of human senses and the fact that we often take way too much for grantedā€¦In the way of health, relationships, finances, etc. Life is so short (for everyone of us) and your advice to savor every minute is such a valuable lesson to be learned! Prayers, my FriendšŸ™
  • Mark this is your best talk yet!! Thank you. I love hearing you each week. I feel that we are having our weekly talks. šŸ’ž

Oh Mark, such love for your family radiates through you. My father passed in 2015 from metastatic melanoma. The moment I found out, he never went to another appointment without me. I was his healthcare power of attorney, his cook, his confidante, his advocate, his nurse but mostly, his devoted daughter. Time is fleeting, and we cannot get it back. I dropped out of nursing school to care for my father, I knew college would always be there and enough about melanoma to know he had little time. It sounds like your daughters and family have been making the most of each day! Youā€™re an inspiration!
  • Hi Mark, I really enjoyed listening to this. Itā€™s insightful and Iā€™m wondering why you arenā€™t doing a Ted talk! You have so many truths to share. You are very lucky to have the love of your family and friends. Looking forward to your next sharešŸ˜ŠšŸ™šŸ¼

Thank you Mark for reaching out to me. It's an honor to be a part of your journey. Please let me know how I can support you. šŸ™
  • You are an inspiration Mark. Some of the remarks you made are so true. Sometimes it is the whiff of death which changes a person and makes him all honest and appreciative of his surroundings. Looking forward to more such videos.

Mark, I love your brutal honesty and raw emotion when you describe your plight and what life means to you. It is beautiful when you come to that realization that life is more than the busyness we often attribute to our blindness. You are blessed with a loving family to support you through you challenges and it is bitter sweet to see the gratitude you express towards their efforts to support a dad that was always there for them. I wish you healing intentions and thoughts to support a speedy recovery! God bless you and your lovely family,
  • Everything you say is so true. Most people don't take time to appreciate the time they have here on Earth. My brother died from cancer but he went fast. It seems that you have been very fortunate and God has given you time and a purpose to help others. There's always a reason behind everything.
  • Wonderful video and encouraging to see such wonderful support from family. I'm 71 years old and have spent a lifetime in the health care financing field. While access to care is vitally important, I can unequivocally say, family and relationships are more important than anything a doctor can do for you in your journey. We will all die. To do so with grace, love and faith is all we should desire.

Thank you so much Lynette! Always great to hear from you, and I truly appreciate your support!
  • The opposite re people, about 200 know of my cancer, but only about 2 care, most have pulled back, others act like I told them "I am only losing my toe nail" -- Lonely trip, but my mate and children are my rock.

Mark, I was really touched by your story: cancer battle, escaping the Staples Center with your daughter Lisa, and getting to spend precious time with your family in California. You may be your own hero, but you're also my hero, Mark. Sending positive vibes and healthy outcomes.
