Cam Newton joins Shannon Sharpe at Club Shay Shay, delving into a wide array of topics from football to fashion. He sheds light on his cigar lounge Fellowship and clarifies his controversial "game changer vs game manager" quarterback comments, providing insights into the NFL criticism landscape and its parallels to the rap game's beef between Drake, J. Cole, and Kendrick Lamar. Cam candidly discusses his experiences with various NFL teams, including the New England Patriots and the Carolina Panthers, reflecting on toxicity in relationships and corporate politics in football. From dissecting quarterback strategies to analyzing player legacies and team dynamics, Cam offers his unique perspective with honesty and depth. Cam offers insights into what is holding Lamar Jackson’s Baltimore Ravens and Dak Prescott’s Dallas Cowboys back from making a deep Super Bowl run. Cam claims that the Atlanta Falcons could’ve afforded Lamar Jackson, Justin Fields, Mike Vick and himself for the price they paid for Kirk Cousins. He reminisces about his rookie days in Carolina, shares stories about former teammates like Steve Smith Sr., Luke Kuechly, and Christian McCaffrey, and reflects on his relationship with Panthers' former owner Jerry Richardson. Reflecting on his Super Bowl run and MVP performance, Cam shares candid insights into the mental and emotional toll of the big game, including the infamous fumble that haunted him in his Carolina Panthers’ loss to Peyton Manning’s Denver Broncos. Then, he delves into his extensive collegiate experiences. Cam talks about his time with the Florida Gators, which did not pan out as Cam expected because Urban Meyer was not as committed to Cam as he was to Tim Tebow. Cam also says the Netflix documentary focusing on Florida did not do a good enough job capturing the toxicity and chaos of a locker room comprised of guys like Aaron Hernandez, the Pouncey Brothers, Joe Haden and Percy Harvin. Cam also addresses the controversies surrounding his recruitment to Auburn and the resilience that propelled him through the adversity and into success, eventually culminating with a National Championship for Auburn. As the conversation ranges from confronting Alabama fans in the Iron Bowl, the recent scuffle he got in at his 7on7 camp, living next door to Michael Jordan, his parenting philosophy, near-death experience and not defining his legacy on whether or not he makes the NFL Hall of Fame, Cam's trademark personality shines through as he navigates numerous topics with depth and sincerity. Cam Newton offers a rare glimpse into the heart and mind of a football icon, providing valuable insights that resonate far beyond the gridiron.

Cam is so honest, to the point where he’s even willing to admit his own short comings. He’s a real One
  • @Ms.Kelle_
CAM NEWTON HAS GREAT ENERGY! He’s authentically himself and I will always respect that 💯
  • @primo462
The Katt Williams episode went viral but that Cam Newton interview hits home much respect.
  • This is a underrated interview. Went from talking about today’s football, personal life, to Cam’s journey. Cam Newton, a very interesting man.
  • @8prilsveryown
“Don’t get distracted by the words, understand the message” powerful uncle Cam
  • Can't lie, Shannon has a good way of having great conversations with anyone who sits on that couch. Salute to another great interview!
  • I lost my dad a few years back. I got emotional from the way you talk about your dad! Respect brotha 💪🏽
  • @Fr3shPrinc3NyC
gotta respect how even when Skip's name is brought up Shannon doesn't use it as an opportunity to disrespect Skip. Salute
  • Cam Newton and Shannon would make a perfect DUO in Podcast...they know alot of stuff.
  • I'm from Jamaica and I literally fell in love with the NFL because of Cam Newton..... Love you both for good and bad because you are unapologetically who you are...
  • @itstheprince1
When cam came back to the panthers and screamed “I’m baccckkk!!!”…legendary 💪
  • Podcast of the year so far. Unc has been on fire since his departure from Undisputed. From his 1st appearances on 1st take years ago. I knew Shannon Sharpe would be box office TV. He was box office on the field. One of the most polarizing players on the original Hard Knocks during his time with the Ravens. When things are meant for you. They're meant for you. And he's literally the only Podcast running that allows the guest the platform to speak. No interruptions, no suggestive comments, just straight to the point with his questions, and his willingness to simply listen. It really makes for good viewing or listening. Whichever you prefer. HANDS DOWN THE BEST PODCAST running currently.
  • @daniel.rivera
This is, hands down, the best episode on this great platform, thus far. Cam Newton is a hall of famer, an nfl legend, and an icon! We better appreciate him because there's not many who aren't afraid to tell the truth for what it is, the truth.
  • @ronaldmczee9064
I love Cam Newton personality and how he carry himself and that aura as a man .
  • @treystyles3760
Cam, you'll probably NEVER see this, but thank u for giving props to your Dad. My father raised me and boy can I relate to the "big presence" and him not being able to see u reach a level that he invested in. My pops left here in 2005, so listening to you tell your stories, brought him back... We played 🏀. Thank u young man, keep doing u to the fullest! ✊🏽
  • @KINGBUCK360
Cam Newton, shopping at a thrift store shows how humble and smart he is, just cause you have money, don't mean you have to go spending it on name brand, he got swag he can make anything look good!!😂😂
  • I love to see the respect Cam has for Shannon. That’s from having a father that taught him respect. Great interview guys love to see this brotherhood.
  • At the time Cam made his proclamation about his place in the QB hierarchy, I thought his ego was out of control, but now I appreciate that he was honest that he wouldn't be happy in certain situations - it probably ended his career, but he was upfront about his expectations and I appreciate the honesty.
