My biggest worry about Daniels is whether the team that drafts him have the patience to develop him. Despite the LSU connections, guys like Joe Burrow are a very rare breed of QB who can start right away, and Daniels is not cut from that cloth. Daniels has the talent, but my fear is that he would be rushed into a starter role, with no adequate weapons or protection to support him. The QB position has one of the highest learning curves, and no matter what aptitude you want (rusher or passer), the QB needs the support cast to thrive.
People like to salivate at the potential of the next Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes, but often forget that both men needed time and the right coaching staff to unlock their full potential. Patience is a quality that is severely lacking these days, and this can severely hamper a QB prospect's development no matter how talented the prospect may be. Expecting a rookie QB to imitate Atlas and carry the entire team on his shoulders, you can work out why this is such a bad idea.
  • I can not believe Michael Penix is so underappreciated he is the best thrower on the draft and does nobody remember he was in the natty

Imagine if the Bears throw us all off and draft Pratt first overall. 😂😂😂

Love your video J&D and keep up the great work you are awesome
  • As an lsu fan who watched every game he played..i acknowledge QB scouting is a crap shoot. But i think i have an idea as to what kinda system he would work in. Dont let him hang on to the ball unless you got elite pass pro and at least one game breaker receiver. If you dont have that, were working quick release to the sideline and flood concept plays where he can book it to the sideline
  • 40TD's and 4int's in the damn SEC let that sink in. Don't pass on Daniels you will regret it.GeauxTigers

The pressure to make the right decision is massive for Washington as all of these top QB's have so many different strengths. It's a difficult choice as Jayden, Drake and JJ are all have different traits that could serve them well in the NFL. I don't envy Washington's front office, this is the trickiest QB draft class I've seen in a long, long time.

What ever they may claim, the Heisman Trophy is a team award. Draft based on that at your own peril.

2016 - Patrick Mahomes was named the winner of the prestigious 2016 Sammy Baugh Award (awarded annually to the nation's top collegiate quarterback). Mahomes led the NCAA in passing yards, total offense, points responsible for and total touchdowns. Led the FBS in passing plays of 10+ yards, 20+ yards, 30+ yards and 50+ yards. He tied the single-game FBS passing record with 734 yards, while also rushing for a career-high 85 yards. Mahomes was also named an Academic All-American.

Ty Detmer holds the record for Total Offense All-Time for a Heisman Trophy winner at 5,022. Mahomes has 5,312. Just based on stats, Patrick Mahomes is the best in the country. So why are Baker Mayfield, Lamar Jackson and DeShaun Watson on the final ballot while Patrick is left at home? Wins. If you want to be a Heisman trophy winner, you have to be a winner - as in, your team's record.

Typically top overall QB’s get drafted to already terrible teams/ coaching staff. Washington has one of the best coaching staff on paper and a defense that can potentially make plays. The team is set up for JD to fufill his potential
  • @Cory-zn5mq
Lamar situation all over again he's gonna thrive

“THE BEST PLAYER IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL” You know what it is

Imagine making millions for a program and having the couching staff penalized for spending a few thousand flying your parents to games.

JD takes way too many big hits. That risk alone should be a big concern for GMs. And Maye has bust potential.
