Lots of new game content coming our way in the next while with E3, I mean Summer Game Fest. ION LANDS (developer of Cloudpunk) have given us a sneak peek behind the scenes mocap preview for NIVALIS, and it looks pretty good! NIVALIS is a cyberpunk slice of life simulator RPG/Adventure game. Where you can be a business owner in a neon drenched futuristic city. It' looks really nice and "neonny" but it's unclear how much punk it will bring us just yet.

Thanks for watching!

A Cyberpunk game without the merc part and instead living as a regular citizen? Sign me up, that sounds incredibly relaxing and fun. I'm instantly getting images in my head about chilling out somewhere eating noodles like in the original Blade Runner and just trying to live in a dystopian Night City like place. Then you can first blow off some steam in CP2077 and then chill out by switching to Nivalis and pretending you're living in the same universe but a different city.

I loved cloudpunk can't wait for nivalis. I was surprised to see they are doing motion capture, I had no idea this one would be more ambitious.
  • The lighting is quite stunning and I definitely longed for a more immersive experience, outside of missions, in Cyberpunk., so I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Almost sounds like a CyberPunk version of the Sims. I like it!

Ha. That’s a cool idea. I like the art and feel.
  • Its really good to see that there are at least a few other people who are hypet for this game for the same reasons as me :-)

Cloudpunk (steam version) is a banger, get it!

It's Cyberpunk canon sequel after Phantom Liberty ending ;)

Thanks Tez! Never heard of this one. Looks interesting + nice art style. Like you - curious if it will hold my attention. Having said that: Growing and expanding a business empire... And - Restaurants... Hmmm... Time to become the Gordon Ramsey of the Cyberpunk universe!

If down the line you can mod Nivalis, and the modders start adding features that make it almost any genre of 😮game you could want in a cyberpunk world…it would instantly jump into my top 5 games list. Either way I can’t wait.

Hmmm, I have been following this for some time and I agree it seems like it will scratch the itch of living in a CP themed world unlike CP 2077. Although with mods and VR you can begin to feel part of Night City. I think then, this might act as a neat departure from CP 2077 in that you have a different role to play which appeals greatly.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Cloudpunk get some trouble from CDPR about copyright issues or am I thinking of something else? I haven't really paid any attention to that game but I do recall hearing about it when it first came out.
  • @R0BCRAM
Oh, and it really needs to have native VR support, with gamepad or motion controls.

I loved Cloudpunk, but it showed it's limited budget. The voice acting wasn't great at times and you could tell they reused some of their actors. But the story was fantastic and the art style was really unique. I hope that Nivalis ends up being better in it's production values and retains that sense of depth that the voxel art city did in Cloudpunk.

there using motion capture but how do you get walking looking stiff. like those who are doing it just walk like there robots? sitting down is the same way

I'm on the fence about this one. The animations seem a bit off to me but that may improve before release. Would be nice if they have some sort of multiplayer feature where you could explore other people's lives they've built and hang out together and do activites. Is that Joker from ME sitting at the table at the front? 😉
