This song reached #1 in 22 countries. One of Bachman's brother stuttered and Randy sang it that way once just to tease him. Everyone loved it and it was released like that. The drummer is also one of Randy's brothers who sadly recently passed away. A great Canadian band.

This song was never supposed to be aired. It was written to tease the lead singers brother on his birthday about his first time with a girl. The brother had a stuttering problem. Their record producer who was at the party said you have to record it. They said well we can clean it up and get rid of the stutter. The producer said no. To record it as it was. And now it is a classic.

The older I get, the more I love 70s music! So glad I grew up with it.

3 Bachmans + 1 Turner = BTO... Great Canadian band with songs Takin' Care of Business, Roll On Down the Highway, Let It Ride! I remember as a kid dancing & playing air guitar with a hairbrush mic to all their songs and I'm still a Gearhead!

He did not have a stutter. His brother did. He did this for his brother. Love this song!! Once you hear it you never forget it!! 💙
-
BTO is the acronym for them. The stutter is a nod to his brother who did have a stutter. Heart❤
-
Randy Bachman played with Burton Cummings in the Guess Who and is credited as co composer (with Cummings) on the majority of their songs.
-
Takin care of business was very popular. One of their biggest hits
-
Takin Care of Business is great too

I’m a product of the 70’s . Love when you react to this decade.
-
I remember reading these guys stayed humble because they were often mistaken for roadies when they showed up for their shows. Just big guys in jeans and regular shirts often.
-
"Taking Care Of Business","Let It Ride","Roll On Down The Highway".

Love this song. the beat, everything is for me perfect !!! "According to Bachman, the song was performed as a joke for his brother, Gary, who had a stutter. They only intended to record it once with the stutter and send the only recording to Gary."
-
I am going to see them live on Monday. They are still rocking at 80.
-
Randy Bachman was lead guitarist and song writer for The Guess Who. He established the Guess Who and recruited Burton Cummings as lead singer.
-
🎉Love me some BTO. Bachman was also a founding member of the Guess Who

The 70's was a GLORIOUS time to grow up in. It was a very special time.

BTO was a staple of everyone’s must have 8 track collection back in my teen years. They have so many great tracks. Taking Care of Business is a must hear for real. Ps. The stutter was a tribute to Randy Bachmans brother who has a stuttering issue. Rolling down the highway is my favorite track by them. No doubt

Love these classic songs. We had a jukebox in our home in the 70s and music was always playing. It was a lovely way to grow up.

BTO is one of the best Canadian bands ever. They are pure 🔥. Good memories in 70’s, driving around playing BTO on my 8-track player 💪
