How to Cook Humba (Bisaya Version)
Also try this version    • Pork Humba Recipe with Tofu  

Ingredients:
4 lbs. pork belly, cubed
1 piece Knorr Pork Cube
3 cups clear soft drink
1 cup water (as needed)
2 ounces banana blossoms
2 tablespoons salted black beans
3 tablespoons white vinegar
½ cup soy sauce
1 piece onion, chopped
2 tablespoons brown sugar
6 cloves garlic, crushed and chopped
½ teaspoon crushed peppercorn

Procedure:
1. Heat a wok or pan. Sear pork belly until it turns brown and enough oil gets extracted from the fat. Remove the pork from the wok. Set aside.
2. Heat around 3 tablespoons of oil. Sauté garlic and onion until the onion softens.
3. Add the pork back into the wok and pour-in soy sauce. Sauté for 1 minute.
4. Add vinegar. Continue sautéing until liquid dries-up.
5. Pour clear soft drinks into the wok. Cover and let boil.
6. Adjust heat to low. Continue boiling for 35 minutes.
7. Add crushed peppercorn, sugar, banana blossoms and salted black beans. Cover the wok and continue cooking until the pork gets tender. Note: you can add water if needed.
8.Transfer to a serving plate. Serve with warm rice.

    Tiga Northern Luzon here. Adobo lang at sinabawan madalas ang pork sa amin pero nung nag abroad na ako at nakasama sa trabaho mga bisaya frens, napakilala nila ang humba sa akin. Syempre hinahanap hanap na. Sarap!

    I remembered yong college days ko ang kusinera namin sa boarding house every week nagluluto ng humba. Super ang sarap...kaya hindi ako nagpapahuli sa hapag kainan or else baka ang pinaka maliit na hiwa mapunta sa yo...natuto akong magluto ng humba sa kanya. Ng nag graduate na ako at nakapag trabaho abroad nagluluto ako ng humba. Maramihan at divided na lang into one serving portions at e freeze. Pag gusto ko ng humba, kukuha lang ako ng isang pack at e micro wave...minsan nagdadala ako ng extra pack sa work place dahil ang mga kababayan ay matakaw din sa humba. Sa Jeddah pa galing ang pork at nagbebenta sila ng patago sa meatshop. Sasabihin ng namin sa itlog na butcher, "sadiq fi special meat"...? Alam na nya baboy...di mo pa makukuha agad. Balikan mo pa after 30 min. kas haram yon don sa Riyadh...equivalent to 350psos/kilo circa 2015...ngayon pag miss ko na ang humba, maskara ang ginagamit ko dahil di masyadong mataba...ngayon nagluluto ako ng humba, my own version...Bacolod ako Vanjo but natuto ako ng humba recipe kay Tyay sa Dumaguete City...

    hi vanjo, i am from davao and now living in germany for about 25 years. this is one of my favorite dishes dahil madaling lutuin at masarap. sa davao gamit namin sa humba ay pata ng baboy. yong pork belly ay para lang sa adobo iyan. yong mga ingredients na ginamit mo ay the same din sa pag luto namin kaya perfect at super yummy. i love the way you cook dahil clear ang mga explanations mo. at marami narin akong natutunan sa mga recipe mo. thanks for your channel . stay blessed, healthy and safe 🙏🥰💖

  • I know this is a very old video but I just watched it. Food really looks delicious. I love it when the person cooking actually eats their dish after the cooking. Makes it really believable how good the food tastes.
