Can wood cut wood? Adds resin You know you need to make a pure resin sawblade now, right?
-
Interesting idea! If I ever need to start a fire by rubbing two pieces of wood together, I'll make a wooden saw blade.

Few things, - Paperback veneer is definitely not the best option for this, - Alternating the pieces at a shallower angle and 90 degrees is likely a better idea - You CAN run a sawstop without the brake cartridge, you just need to use the bypass - You should probably have MUCH more clamping force on the mold than you have been using - I think the wood blade might benefit from a more aggressive, lower TPI pattern with more support for each tooth

As a general rule, materials of the same hardness can cut each other under as long as they are sharpened enough and not so brittle to break under the required stresses to begin to cut the other material.

That mumbling bit was classic

That is some cutting edge technology

This is the equivalent of using a welder to melt sheet metal apart. So rebellious. Love it.

I like how the video unintentionally shows why carbon fiber (or really any) composites are so great. You can have a relatively weak fiber and a relatively weak matrix, but combine the two, and you have something with some incredibly strong mechanical properties. I’m assuming you are using epoxy resin, making this an epoxy-cellulose 0/90 laminate composite. I would recommend PFKK as a resin as it is generally better than epoxy but… well… it’s extremely hard to source and work with if you aren’t a professional within the composites industry.

"5 is a nice even number" 3:22 had to think about that one for a sec.

I would really like to see this done again but with two differences: 1. Mix the abrasive into some resin before putting it on the wood. 2. Put the abrasive resin mixture only where the blades would be so you can go thicker using less abrasive. 3. File the teeth so that they are actually sharp.

I just started at Alcom, a hauling trailer company, and I recently learned that the saw bolt has to tighten by screwing to the left because if it was a regular "rightytighty leftyloosey" the blade would come flyin off the saw! The blade must be tightened opposite of the direction the blade spins.

“I specifically chose … because it’s harder than most wood” (while cutting it with scissors)

Has access to a waterjet capable of making unlimited metal saw blades...... makes a wooden one.
-
i've learned a lot of things from your channel, and videos such as these, and one of those things are that anything can cut through a lot of different materials if it can spin fast enough
-
no idea why, most entertaining thing ive seen all day. lmao. Your commentary is legendary.

In shock and awe at the capabilities of the wood saw blade
-
ngl it kinda stops being a wood sawblade when you fill it with literal diamonds
-
first video i have seen of him, the ideas are amazing and the humor is amazing!
