Noise complaints, pool closures, BED BUGS?? Disney World does NOT want you to do THESE THINGS at their hotels. (And — quite honestly — WE don’t want you to do these things, either.)

My husband worked at a housing authority that was overrun with bed bugs, they terrify me after everything he has told me. You can look for the bugs but when you look at the mattress you need to look for rust/dark red stains which is blood from the bedbugs those are easier to see. He inspects everything and I love him for it. I will say your dryer is the bed bugs enemy.

I was a frequent traveler and ended up bringing bedbugs back to my apartment a few years ago. They infested the apartment and it was scary. I notified the apartment complex and they brought in experts to get rid of them. It was a nightmare.

Bedbugs... Everything gets washed when we get home even if it hasn't been worn. Bags stay in the garage until everything has been cleaned. Don't worry AJ, you aren't the only paranoid one.

I’ll second the DO NOT SLEEP ON THE DISCOUNTS comment. We saw Disney was offering the included Dining plan after we booked. We had to call because our room didn’t qualify but we ended up getting a better room, WITH dining plan, for about $300 less than we were originally paying without it. My wife conferenced me in with the Disney cast member doing the reservation because she was sure she was making a mistake. That evening we sat down to make sure we hadn’t fallen for a sneaky disney scam. Still convinced we missed something

Even the finest hotels have occasional bed bugs. My husband is in hotels and just the mention makes him cringe.its like just saying “bed bugs” might summon them😂 The true test of a good hotel is response time and appropriate action.
  • OMG yes the Timon and plumba safety videos. My son fell in love with those on our last visit.
  • We had problems almost daily with housekeeping not pulling our door shut all the way. Thankfully nothing was ever missing, just frustrating.

If you suspect you have bedbugs in a hotel room, put your luggage in the bathroom.

Great info.We actually stayed at the suite at Art of animation this past November for the first time. We loved it. We had tons of space and our kids, who are 17 and 19 had plenty of room. We get the refillable mugs on every trip. We eat at the different hotels and use our mugs a lot throughout all our trips. We usually stay at the Wilderness lodge on most of our trips.
  • There is a boat service for Port Orleans French Quarter and Riverside. If you don't want to walk to each of the resorts, you can take a relaxing boat ride from one to another. It will also take you to Disney Springs from the port orleans resorts.

Stays at Shades of Green also qualifies for extended evening hours. When my boyfriend and I went to Disney in November we stopped at a grocery store on our way to our hotel (I always rent a car) and bought a box of Cheerios and some small boxes of milk - between the two of us finished it in the week we were there. I also brought fruit. He doesn't drink coffee so I grabbed a cup each morning from Joffreys.
  • When we were there a couple of weeks ago - we were lucky enough to be able to Uber or Lyft ( about $10-20 )to our dinner reservations- having to use a ECV for any distance there - they were such a blessing - door to door from the Polynesian to wherever- 10 minute drives verses the bus etc . We also took breaks because we could watch the water activity- and it was COLD !! Be ready for any weather or you will be buying Disney gear !! Have fun everyone!! We had one of the best trips !! 🩵🩷💜💚🐾😎

Just wanted to let you know the drink station in the Contemporary Resort at Contempo Cafe is also open 24/7. During my recent trip I would sometimes go down to fill it up before bed...which sometimes would be as late as 2 AM!

Fuel at the Dolphin opens at 6:30am and has mobile order for Swan and Dolphin guests! It's my go to when staying there, it's super easy to pick up a breakfast wrap and a drink on the way to super early entry at HS.

the kitchenette one would be good for some that, say is on a special diet and needs to have particular foods available, or someone with medications that have to be refrigerated (such as type 1 diabetics), someone that is a "tube feeder" and needs refrigeration for their "food"...somethin like that.
  • The Swan and Dolphin also have some great restaurants -- but be sure to make reservations!

I completely agree with you about the noise. I have panic attacks, and one of my triggers is if I don't get enough sleep. I stayed at Allstar Movies in December, and people were making noise up and down the walkway.

Shades of green is also included in the deluxe resort hours.

Breakfast for my trips are pop tarts and instant oatmeal. Easy to pack and quick to eat. 😊
  • We called for security 3 times because of our neighbors. Ear plugs didn't work. Security never came. They offered us a voucher for food and changed our room without an explanation. I have to send a email to guest services at All Star Sports. Very disappointed
