When Hannah Waddingham and Juno Temple first met, in a ladies’ loo mere minutes before the inaugural table read for “Ted Lasso,” they barely exchanged words before knowing they wouldn’t have to fake the friendship that blooms between their characters. Covering this week's issue of Variety, the two women talk their on- and off-screen friendship and taking on toxic masculinity in the Apple TV Plus show.

Their friendship is one of the best parts of the show. Its so refreshing to see a such a strong female friendship between 2 characters who are so different.

When Keeley calls Rebecca out after finding the photo was my favorite moment between the two. Keeley clearly was a Rebecca fangirl but rather than let it slide she stood up for
  • Hannah saying she would have named her daughter Juno was such an easnest, beatiful thing that really shows you how much they genuinely love each other, it just makes the characters' relationships even more real

Hannah Waddingham is a triple threat actresses because she can sing, dance and do dramatic and comedy acting to perfection. You have to think her height held her career back, because leading men tend to be very short and she has leading ladies looks with her range she would be a A-list actress much sooner if she was shorter

Ugh, this is everything. Hannah is such a woman crush. I had to rewind every question because instead of reading I was just starting at her.

I remember watching season one and saying to myself "oh Rebecca and Keely are just going to be so bitchy towards each other"; but when they met and there was that spark of friendship, and it carried and grew throughout the entire season, it was just pure magic. Lovely, lovely relationship. What a great show.
  • These 2 are SO powerful, sometimes I forget how male dominated Ted Lasso truly is. One of my favorite shows and I am so glad it's reached the scale it has!

So underrated in a post-snark comedy world: a show where it's possible to root for every single character 😍

Hannah Waddington seems like she'd be a great friend. So full of life. Living it. Loving it.
  • You're both so amazing and it's so good to see women in male dominated spaces just sticking up for each other and not fight or even be pitted against each other. Thank you for bringing Keeley and Rebecca onto our screens!
  • I love both of their characters on the show so so much. It's so great to see a show where the characters are multi-faceted and you get to understand how they became the way they are now as adults. And seeing them deal with realistic human situations and be changed by them, or not, is one of the best parts of the show.

So is it Hanno? Junnah? HaJu (gesundheit)? Whatever it is, they are the 2 other reasons why Ted Lasso is so good.

Ted Lasso is such a great show. I wish there was more great writing and acting in other TV series.
