In this video, I'm putting a new twist on an old cake trend. Traditional doll cakes have used actual dolls stuck into a layer cake, but today I'm making a 100% edible chocolate barbie with an edible dress built right into the cake!

  • The cutting made me chuckle... Barbie literally fainted into herself lol. Great job! I wish this is how all cake artists would make theirs.

As someone who has been painting dolls for about 8 ish years now, The face is insanely impressive! It's hard to do even with acrylic and other traditional media, but food color? Amazing!
  • As a kid I would always ask for a Barbie cake for my birthday because I knew I would get a free doll with it😂
  • Natalie is one of the best cake artists. Great job Natalie, you make all your viewers happy and left in crying so hard because they laughed too much

My Mom was a bored woman when she was a stay-home Mom. Decorating cakes was one of many things she taught herself and soon did exceptionally well. My sister and I had some really cool doll cakes when we were kids! :) I'm sending her this video for sure.

I think a dragon fruit hyper realistic cake would look cool and be challenging if you haven't already!

I love the naked cake! Its so simple and beautiful, and I don’t like frosting a lot. Love your videos, and that cake looked amazing! ❤
  • Hi Natalie my name is Becca, I am 14 years old and I recently won Grand Champion for cake decorating at the county fair. I am always looking to try new techniques and ideas and looking at your cakes I want to try hyper realistic cakes! Thank you for inspiring me!

Surprised the mirror gloss cake trend wasn’t mentioned. Especially the galaxy ones. I saw that everywhere. I don’t know if it counts but the one trend where people used cupcakes to make it look like a regular cake?

I like that her name, Natalie Sideserf, sounds like a side dessert or a dessert. Its kinda like she was fated to make cakes <3
  • She’s so freakin talented I am so jelly. Just amazing and determined. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
  • I'm surprised the rainbow cake wasn't mentioned, I swear at one point everyone decided to do a white iced cake but when you cut into it there was rainbow cake layers🤣💕

I remember "gravity defying cakes" being a big trend for a while where it was basically a normal cake with some sort of wire holding something up over the cake and then the wire was covered in candy to make it look like the candy was being poured over the cake and defying gravity. Other than that I think you basically covered all the cake trends lol
  • most people just take a normal plastic barbie and make the dress a cake instead you made the whole barbie edible! amazing job!

I’m just in AWE of the fact that out of all of the doll cakes I’ve seen they’re always a buttercream dress with piping. I’ve never seen anyone go to this level of detail even just for the skirt that looks like folded material!! Gorgeous!!

I remember ADORING the naked cake trend. I have digestive issues and lots of heavy buttercream always upset my stomach, even though I loved how good it tasted. So I saw the naked cake and was so excited because it was a cake I could eat! And it was pretty! Nowadays my stomach is managed a little and does better haha. But I still adore that trend Also geode cakes are fabulous
