I reversed the polarity of my phone screen, and now the hacks are debunking me
-
Dave: hears the word debunking Dave: sweats profusely
-
Ann: "We need to make something edible so Dave has something to try." Dave: in another room "I sense a disturbance..."

The freezer trick is used by librarians to prevent mold when there are too many items to dry them. You freeze what you can not dry straight away- then defrost and dry properly when you have the time and space. Its an emergency technique only and you still have to deal with drying it!

not all heroes wear capes, some wreck their microwaves and feed their husbands all sorts of abominations instead
-
She doesn’t just bake She investigates To expose the fake
-
you taking a few seconds to randomly express the love you feel for your husband is just so wholesome <3
-
"The hack doesn't work, and now I have butter in my shoes." thank you for this beautiful quote. Also CONGRATULATIONS on being married so long and still being in love. Dave is great and he's a huge part of why so many people love this channel <3

How to make ice in microwave: 1) put glass of water in microwave 2)unplug the microwave 3). Put the microwave in freezer
-
"We need to make something edible so Dave has something to eat." Edible is a term used VERY loosely here
-
As a side note it may be dangerous to put candles into the freezer and then light them anyway, as the heat could cause the cold glass to shatter(cold to hot uneven expansion).
-
Congratulations on your anniversary of 25 years despite your repeated attempts to poison your husband with debunking videos. But all the other great things you cook must make up for it. Seriously, you seem such a sweet couple and your shout-out to him on your channel is so sweet.

Fake baking channels are scared of one person: Ann Reardon
-
I like how she doesn’t just prove that they’re fake, she shows how you can actually get a similar result
-
In regards to the candle one, 5 min crafts took a grain of truth and twisted it. I learned from a restaurant that they freeze the candles so they have time to get the cake out to their customers without it dripping wax onto the cake. But it is just meant to last until they get the cake out and not for hours and hours.

“The hack doesn’t work and now there’s butter on my shoes” could be a metaphor for a lot of things.
-
Imagine the boys bringing friends around like- Friend: Why are there shoes and candles in your freezer? Boys: Mom’s a food scientist.
-
"The hack doesn't work, and now I have butter in my shoes." Ann's entire channel summed up in one sentence. I feel like I need that on an apron.

That last bit about needing at least 30% fat to make a liquid whipable was fascinating to me. It's great hearing about these kinds of food facts that let you improvise and achieve a desired result. I've gone to culinary school and worked in a michelin star kitchen but this is the first time I've heard about this. Thanks Ann!

I actually laughed when you started to mention the frozen candles. Here in Finland I often put candles in lanterns out in the balcony during the Christmas season. They burn through at exactly the same speed whether it's -20°C or +20°C.... 😂
