By FAR, the Best Travel Bag (& it's not even close)

I travel at least 100 days a year and have been for about a decade; as such, I've tried SO many bags and luggages, and in this video I share why this is, by FAR, the best carry-on travel bag and it doesn't even come close (from all the backpacks I've tried so far).

Given that both the 45L and 35L both fit into international and domestic cage-testers, I recommend the 45L for MOST people since it's better to have the space and not need it, than to wish you had a bit more space. People who are shorter than 5'5" (165 cm) might lean towards the 35L - NOT because of any functional difference - but rather, because of a potentially slightly awkward appearance.

A quick note for those who have a 16" Macbook Pro (M1 of later). Although the 35L fits the 16" laptop in the central padded sleeve, the Macbook Pro specifically requires a bit of fiddling with the flap-cover. If you have a 16" Macbook Pro and want the smoothest in and out, the 45L is definitely the one for you.

When you are packing for a trip, really spend some time to "imagine" your day to day activities as you go through your itinerary. This will really help inform what to bring, and just as importantly, where to pack them depending on variables like frequency of use, how fragile things you bring are, and of course, how expensive things are to replace which would motivate you to store those items more securely.

Even if you don't use this bag, it's good practice when packing for travel, to always have a pouch of the most frequently used items that pack right at the top so you never have to go digging to find those items that you often have to reach for - items like phone chargers and power banks are of course the first that come to mind, but depending on your preferences, pack with intentionality to make things more streamlined.

By nature of using a carry-on-only bag, you're already taking a big step in securing your things. Checked luggage can get lost or tremendously delayed (especially if you have any transfer flights). There are many options to keep your things secure, but one of the most effective ways is to simply introduce one barrier that will make your bag even a TINY bit more difficult to steal or pickpocket. You don't need to turn your bag into a vault - you just need thieves to perceive your bag as more difficult that other bags near you. TSA approved combination locks are an absolute JOKE for anyone who is determined to break in, but I use them because they're enough to deter most pickpockets to target someone else without any barriers.

Bro, the bag is $457. Unless you are a person who travels for work all the time, the price does not make sense.
  • @fmzaidi2001
They are not the best travel bag because you are missing the most important consideration: Pricing
  • @thullraven1
It costs like $375 US. It might be the best, but I can get almost as good for a lot less with the Osprey Farpoint 40, which I have.
  • @AlejandroFantin
I'm surprised you didn't include price as a key factor in your review. Given the current economic climate, it's an important consideration for many of us. It's frustrating to have to search the comments to find out the price. So disapointed.
  • @SuJuYoon
Maurice, I love your vids man, but you gotta review stuff that is more affordable more often. This bag is dope, but its priced beyond its value for most of us who only fly a few times per year. The video is interesting, but there is a sense of foreboding that hangs over the video with the price. I want to buy things you recommend because I trust your experience, but your value for money vs my value for money dont add up and it feels like we're completely out of touch. In addition I think its unrealistic to not include price/ value for money as "the only 5 categories that matter".

I used to do backpacks only. I got older and overtime my back started hurting. Had to switch to roll away carryon luggage and never looked back. back feels soo much better also. It was fun while it lasted when I was younger and no back problems...lol
  • @jaspalace
Thank you so much! As somone who drives for work and ministry often, it's great to have a bag where I can fit both lifestyles in it! I will eventually begin travel nursing too and have been looking for the best luggage/backpack. I appreciate your work ethic and depth of knowledge

One HUGE problem with Pakt. Shipping to Europe for me was set to 75 dollars. That's insane. So I chose another travelbag. They must lose tons of customers with that type of shipping
  • @SeanBoswell
Awesome video and review. Got recommended this video and is my first time watching one of your videos. You had me sold on this backpack and went straight to the site to buy one, saw the price and went straight off that website 🀣🀣. Thanks for the roughly 15mins of excitement
  • Awesome review! I've not traveled from a single bag but i'm beginning to see the benefits. My goal is to learn how to best do it and then share it with my wife & children. Thanks for taking the time to share this!
  • @kinglizzy99
wow, your preparation and execution on these videos is best-in-class...well done! this bag has been on my short list...waiting for a couple new releases from other brands before pulling the trigger, but so far, this is in the lead...thx again!
  • @jagsterr1
Love hearing about convenient, throughtful products and you always bring them to us - thank you!
  • @Amara-Dale
never thought i’d be so interested in this type of content, but everything about this is brilliant..interesting, well-researched and well-explained, entertaining, and informative; grateful
  • @Sandilini
This bag looks amazing. My husband and I travel with a single carryon shared between us with our own personal items. This leaves us an additional carryon for the return flight in case we buy something at the destination.
  • Great. I'm new to your channel. I travel plenty and have been obsessed over the years with finding the perfect travel backpack for 1 bag travel. I've used various Tortuga travel backpacks, along with a smaller pack inside the big one. You covered it all, thanks.
  • @user-gi3gg3fq4w
Great travel purchase recommendations. I binged on several of your videos related to travel and Japan. Big thanks for the well thought out script, call outs and fun visuals. I am impressed and very appreciative. Am not an EDC adept as I love curating my designer handbags but this PAKT 35L is very tempting for my 2024 escapades. Also just bought the Cipway cubes. Can't believe I don't have a set. Mille merci pour vos astuces. Continuez d'Γͺtre inspirΓ© et surtout bon voyages.
  • Thank you SO much! My engineer husband travels internationally and this will make the perfect Christmas present. The Travelers Notebook was a big hit so I trust your judgement. πŸ€—

kay, I’ve always scratched my head about the obsession around the :yt: kislux :yt: book totes and their practicality, but this one is adorable!! Congratulations

My next bag because of you, your experience with it and recommendation. Thank you πŸ™πŸΌ

Damn these are some nice updates! I've loved my V1 Pakt backpack for the last two years on several trips. Full depth front compartment, improved comfort, and the redesigned back security compartment are all tempting improvements.
