So YouTube has deemed that farm life isn’t suitable for all viewers. So enjoy this one as ad free. If you’d like to support our channel another way, head to our store and buy something to support us a different way! www.gridlessness.com/shop
  • I suggest you closely observe your cow in 20 - 21 days to see if she comes back in heat / season? If she is alone and not with other cows, look for signs of nervousness such as extra walking in paddock, frequent bawling, different behavior at milking time, and sometimes mucous discharge. Leaving a cow in heat with 3 bulls for an extended amount of time is not wise. They may break her down depending on her age. Being "served" once or twice is ENOUGH! For a natural yearly calving interval, a cow should be bred back 60 -90 days after calving. S. Carolina

Greetings from the land of Blaze King, thanks for the unsuitable video. Indeed we can't have anyone knowing where food actually comes from - reality bad and all that right? The herd looks good by the way. I spent 27 years on a local rancher's branding crew and would help move the herd up on the grazing leases sometimes which was my introduction to mountain horse riding. Good luck to you all this hunting season.
  • Nothing like natural family planning and family life at the farm :)

Just so you know, when a cow jumps on another cow or bull, its called bulling. It lest you know she is in heat. Not sure why they do it. Another thing is, you can save some money by grinding and cooking the grain. That will make it easier for her to digest and you will not be wasting grain. Whole grain does not get digested.

That was quite the party... the bulls are all sitting around telling stories about it, highly embellished stories, but that's what bulls do when they're having a few beers.

  • Now, that was a wild kingdom moment! 😅 Thanks for sharing..🐄 ❤️
  • We have a dairy goat farm and when a doe is in heat it drives ALL the bucks crazy. Nothing is sacred or “out of bounds.” Does not in heat, other bucks, fence posts, bushes…. well, maybe not fence posts & bushes but you definitely had better watch your back if you have to go into the buck pen. Carrying a hefty stick is a good idea. What goes on in the barnyard should stay in the barnyard.

I laughed myself silly over the commentary when Penny was "visiting the neighbor guys" 🤣 I have two pregnant cows out in the field right now. They are both dealing with unplanned pregnancies because my neighbors bull popped over the fence for a visit.
  • I heard it too😮. It was my chore growing up to milk the milk cow. Life is a miracle you are so right!
  • This brings a whole new phase to bull riding people last maybe 30 seconds bulls don't even last five my goodness

I was kind of wondering as I was watching this if YouTube was gonna demonetize the video for its content. Its nature, kids and adults raised on farms see it all the time between loads of different animals. I remember as a child seeing animals breed which scarred me for a long time. I was not interested in human mating for a long time after watching the different farm animals get busy. It's a good thing, but I still ended up having my 1st son at 19. Thanks for the video, I laughed so much!

Jeff your dry Canadian sense of humor is great you would make a great guest cast member on Letter Kenny. Best homestead/off-grid channel! You two define “laid back”..
