Leading 22-17 in the final minute of the match and in possession and on the verge of their first ever win over New Zealand, Ireland fail to keep hold of the ball and the All Blacks work their way up the field to create a match winning try for Ryan Crotty converted by Aaron Cruden from the corner during the match at the Aviva Stadium in November 2013.

Coming from a New Zealander, that was the best game of rugby I have ever seen, Ireland you are amazing! One day the green machine one day.

Just watch the Franks brothers in all of that. There were like wrecking balls in clearing the rucks, running it straight. They did like 50% of the work in leading up to the try. Awesome.

I can honestly say, this is one of the best games of rugby i have watched in my life.

it's amazing how you can hear everyone holding their breath at 5:03 and 6:06

What New Zealand did at the end of this game was ridiculous. The way they kept the ball at such a high intensity of play, with one solitary chance to win the game, and took the necessary risks to make headway without a single error was, in a word, miraculous. If you gave any side, including them, 20 chances to pull off the same trick again I bet they couldn't do it once. Not under those circumstances. As an exhibition of composure under pressure and skill levels from every player on the pitch it has to be one of the great team tries.

One thing you should never do in rugby. Underestimate the AB in the final minutes, they will not give up. ( England fan)
  • its funny how the crowd tried to win over the ref when they damn well knew it wasnt a foward pass lol

That game was the reason to become an All Black fan. I'm a Swiss and watched that game in Dublin in a Pub... :-) Never was watching a rugby game before and still a Fan!
  • To this day the most perfect phase of rugby every played. Pace, Power & Precision combined to perfection and a refusal to accept defeat. The Greatest sports team of all time.

I was at the game and I've never felt so bad leaving a stadium before. Absolutely sickening way to lose but that's the All Blacks for you. They didn't panic and they are so good at keeping the ball alive.

Richie McCaw has been capped 148 times but has won 131 of these matches. Only three players in rugby history have played more than 131 matches, that's why I'd share my sheep with Richie any day.

Feel so sorry for Ireland. But you have to admire the AB's never say die attitude.
  • What a fight for every inch of the field, not a rugby fan but this was an apotheosis, beautiful, thumbs up

I was in the stadium with my dad (German AB supporter here). My dad kept saying: it's over, they can't win it anymore and I always instisted to wait til the whistle had gone... damn that was close. One of the best games I have ever seen. I feel for the irish because they did extremely well. I also don't blame them for booing. when you lose a game like that in that manner and that late, you have every right to be upset. The cool thing was that the people (at least all the ones we met afterwards) let it go rather quickly and there were no hard feelings. I had a great time that night and the people were awesome. Love Ireland and the Irish since that day. Only time I don't cheer for Ireland nowadays is when they are plaing against the all blacks. Second favourite for sure!
  • I think I have seen this video at least 10 times. It NEVER gets old and I always find myself laughing my ass off!

Glorious glorious glorious glorious passage of play under pressure

Always saddens me in a rugby game when the kicker is booed. Should never happen under any circumstances. This is rugby, not football.

The highest degree of the greatest champion team in any era performing under pressure the impossible....the greatest example of a team that never gives up....what an amazing play....thankyou for the memories!
