Freeza is readying to destroy Planet Vegeta and the only one brave enough to stand up against him is Bardock. However, Bardock in base form is far too weak to stop Frieza. As he begins to think about Gine, Raditz, and Kakarot (Son Goku) - he's filled with sadness and rage. The kindness of Gine has rubbed off on Bardock enough that he can become the Super Saiyan.
Super Saiyan Bardock has a power level of 500,000 at most, while first form Frieza is at a power level of 530,000. As we already know though, being caught of guard can lead to someone strong losing to someone weak and because Friezais caught off guard by Super Saiyan Bardock he's taken down immediately.
While this story isn't What if Bardock went to Earth with Goku, nor is it What if Bardock and Gine went to Earth with Goku, nor is it What if Gine went to Earth with Goku. Some of those elements are present in this story.
Similarly, this isn't What If Bardock was King of the Saiyans nor is it What if Goku was Prince of the Saiyans, but some of those elements are present as well.

As a huge Bardock fan, this is the best possible outcome Bardock's story could have been, if it stayed consistent canonically lol, but it's sad that Raditz died trying to defend his father though and didn't get to see his father change a race of warrior's, to being similar to the Saiyan's in universe 6

I love the thought of Bardock going SSJ and his attack flying towards Frieza and he’s just sitting there thinking “I called it!”

Imagine if Raditz was on the ship. Vegeta would've seen Super Saiyan Gine, and anyone with survival instincts can tell you why that wouldn't end well for Vegeta. Mama bear.

This really was a great What if. Although it's a bit of a bummer how it ended fairly short, it really came around nicely with a fitting finale.

I love seeing this story as a dad. Burdock is a good if imperfect father and man. Love how that changes things clearly for the better

I don't know why but Bardock has always been a interesting character to me even when I was little.

Man this was beautiful. Paragus really deserved this. He's constantly tossed aside as a tool like Raditz and Nappa and he really deserved the treatment he got here.

I normally never find much to love about these alternate timelines, mostly due to out of character portrayals, but this one really captivated me and brought a tear to my eye at the end. It also made me realize how much I would love to see the original Dragonball reanimated and given a new breath of life.

Bardock's story has all the makings of a fantastic show. Hell, even if Grandpa Gohan died due to Goku losing control, that would simply show Bardock the fear of returning to monke.
