We've talked about classic Roblox avatars before, but what about classic Roblox games? After all, Roblox is a gaming platform, not a fashion show. There are plenty of classic Roblox games that are still available for you to play right now, but unfortunately, since many of them are so old and were created with a very limited set of tools, most of them are broken or just simply not fun. Fortunately, though, there are still some diamonds in the rough. Which classic Roblox games still hold up today? These are the classic-era Roblox games that are still fun to play.

Just a quick clarification - I am not trying to claim that this video covers every fun classic game out there, there's no way I could do that in a reasonable amount of time! I just tried to cover as many as possible. If you know of a classic game I didn't cover here and you want people to know about it, pop it in the comments :)

While not "old", i really miss playing the older tycoon games and still think theyre fun to play and experience the nostalgia. Hell, the first game i ever played was superhero tycoon. On a side note, i agree more people should play Base wars, that game was really fun

One thing to consider about old ROBLOX is that the front page had a super high turnover. New games constantly became popular, so even if they were simple, they didn't have to hold our attention for very long, cos we would soon move on to the next big thing. When I first played in 2008, the most popular game would only have around 50 concurrent players, so it's not surprising that what was popular could be completely different from one day to the next.

Old games from 2014-2017 just hit different

Survive and kill the killers in area 51 (the original one) is still such a banger after many years of playing it and I'm so happy that it still gets updated, and that the player base is very stable

i think the main appeal of old roblox was that it definitely felt more like a online social hangout than now. games were so bare bones that it felt like you were battling legos with random people. aside from the obvious fact that i'm no longer the same age as i was 12 years ago, i feel like roblox has become a much more advanced engine to the point where it's no longer possible to feel the same feeling from that era. people are either making cash grabs or insanely impressive videogame experiences where it's not as possible to feel that way.

I really do miss the old roblox building style where everything was built brick by brick instead of everything being modelled in blender and imported it was very charming and beautiful and the added benefit was the map destruction that was possible because of it - I remember so many old games like " the end of robloxia " that relied on map destruction as the main gimick and I honestly miss it
  • This is the first time in years I've heard Flood Escape 2 get mentioned, I can finally rest...
  • I like it how you actually consider if old Roblox was actually good. I think that really only the community was better back in the day, the games were fun. But not as improved and detailed as the newest Roblox games. Thanks for not showing bias.

Make a cake and feed a giant noob was my first roblox game I played it’s so nostalgic for me
  • @benzicol
Natural Disaster Survival living for 15 years is insane. I think the fun chaos + diversity of maps + effects of the disasters make it deserve its popularity. It's so simple yet so fun. It is also still receiving new updates and maps which is cool!

Work at a pizza place is so goated, I would literally fight others to become the manager. Now I still play it & grind for the coins. Love the game so much, big part of my childhood & still is a big part of my life to this day.
  • @jayden4413
I'm surprised you didn't mention Person299's Minigames, since it has around 5-20 players at any given point and is still updated relatively frequently for such an old game
  • what i believe is that they were fun for an audience that wouldn't expect anything more than those games and that's exactly why they're so beloved

As someone with an account from 2008 and started in 2007, I think why I miss roblox back then (aside from nostalgia) is because the simplicity was the charm. I used to play a lot of roleplaying games like the old high school and robloxaville map. The game was like a virtual, social lego game and your imagination was what made it come to life. With how overcomplicated things are now it feels like sensory overload and caters to the ipad kid demographic where the more complicated and distracting, the better. Also, rip tix. I miss being able to buy clothes with virtual money.
  • Survive the Disasters was also the first game I ever bought a gamepass for… which was back in 2019 lmao. I still honestly love the first game, I played it recently for about 2 or so hours. Never got into the sequel all that much tbh, I just like the classic simplicity more than modernized stuff.

I think the reason pizza place managed to survive for so long is that roblox games entered the ' app era ' sometime around the late 2010s, now-days if you can make a simple game to entertain a mobile audience you've secured yourself an easy bag since parents who let the Ipad raise their kids will spend hours upon hours on the most mind numbingly boring games
  • @Jedidaily
I used to play Base Wars all of the time, now you've made me remember it and want to play it again, so thank you.
