Nintendo is Stupid.

Agreed, Nintendo is flawed and erratic. Especially when it comes to older titles, they spend so much effort blocking any “unintended” game experiences, and just old games in general. I’d say what Nintendo wants, more than just profit, is to control how their content is experienced. More cynically, the company has a massive list of first-party franchises that sell systems and whose fans overlook these issues, whereas other large companies in the gaming industry don’t get that pass. But they do have Xenoblade 1, so it kinda balances out.

The competitive thing is kind of not Nintendos fault, Competitive gaming as a whole is not profitable, like at all. It's a bit better for Nintendo, but at this point Nintendo attempting to enter has nearly killed the Smash scene entirely and not because of Nintendo, but the tournament organizers. Nintendo likely won't ever enter either because of the Smash Metoo movement. I don't blame them either, the competitive Smash scene specifically is god awful.

The amount that I wanna play twilight princess again… but it will be 10,000 years before they put it out since it’s not THAT old yet. Ughhhhh

This is the final nail in the coffin for me supporting Nintendo products. They have repeatedly punished the very people who love their games and characters for too long. I will not only never purchase any games or consoles from Nintendo, but I will be selling all of the Nintendo consoles and games that I own. I am boycotting Nintendo. Plus as an Italian, I am sickened by the racist stereotype character Mario. I can’t even look at that company now. They disgust me.

The reason why Sega it’s a better company than Nintendo it’s because they don’t take suing a copywriting that seriously and it doesn’t matter if they have the rights they don’t understand what made their company good in the first place

Hey I was thinking about getting a Nintendo for a first time, do you recommend me getting it?

There is some good news to this, however it's going to be a long time in the future. There's a specific time frame where when a person oduct isn't sold in any form then it enters public domain & abandon ware. I'm sure they'll find a way of putting them on NSO somehow, but there's possible bright point that I don't suspect Nintendo will make their games available before that transpires.

I would acually play nintendo if it wasn't so damn expensive. No, I don't want to pay 100$ for a 10 year old game. AND THEY NEVER GO ON SALE. It's a shame because I love their games. Used to play them all of the time.

I love Nintendo games and trust them more than a lot of other big companies, but they’re not perfect. The inflation of price you mentioned really bugs me, GameCube is almost impossible to buy for now because of it. I still buy their products because it’s what brought me and my wife together to play games, and that’s special to me. I wish I had the option to get some of my favourite classics, but being a dad that isn’t possible, so I’ll take NSO as a passable workaround even though it isn’t brilliant

This is one of the reasons that why I don't buy Nintendo Consoles Or handhelds anymore? I really wanna play there old games but if they're gonna keep making me jump through hoops. To play them? I think i'd rather go with PlayStation. Nintendo doesn't think about backwards comparability like PlayStation or Xbox do.

The smash community deserved to be shut down after being exposed for having p3dos and pr3dators behind the scene so there is absolutely no way to defend that smash community, The rest I agree with though. The only parts I care about Nintendo are it's developers and it's employees and that's about it. Not a fan of their DMCA bot/ team in Japan
