Military-themed episodes of The Ranveer Show are always well-received. In this episode, we present Major Abhay Sapru, one of the most eloquent military veterans I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with. Para-SF podcasts are something that always blows my mind. One thing that always outshines in such conversations is the killer special forces mindset.

Commissioned in 1988, Abhay Sapru volunteered for the elite Special Forces. During his decade-long stint with the Indian Army, he served in areas like Sri Lanka, Kashmir, and the North-East of India. He currently works for a private bank and alongside, is an established author, having written two novels about his combat experiences.

In this episode and my interaction with Major Abhay Sapru, we spoke about the situation in Sri Lanka, Tamil Nadu, what had really happened, and what it takes to be a part of the Special Forces. Hope you enjoy this conversation. Feel free to send in guest suggestions for TRS. My team and I are always looking for fantastic people to host and present in front of you.

In an age where American Marines and their British equivalents are celebrated all over the world, it is crucial that Indians get to know about our Commandos as well.

In this podcast, we aim to spread the word about the incredible Indian Special Forces.

Thank you to all our brave soldiers, for their contribution to India! Jai Hind!!!

  • Major Abhay Narayan Sapru is a living legend. The man has been operating in J&K at the peak of militancy. Absolute badass and top draw sf operator
  • 1:04:13 Many of you might not know Sudhir Walia sir. He is called the rambo of Indian Army. He was in 9 para. Bloody fearless, badass and what not. He lived among the Kashmiris altogether in their attire and hunted militants. God Bless His Soul. Jai Hind 🇮🇳 Abhay Sapru sir, Walia Sir, Mohit sir and many more these are the real hunters and heroes as well who were highly in heated areas of combat. Love you Sapru sir A big salute to you if you're seeing this 🇮🇳 Jai

Served under Maj Sapru in the civilian corp sector -2001-02. Short tenure, beautiful memories. read all his books. He was my first Army boss. Amazing boss, human & leader. Rockstar !!
  • @sj-2400
After Jacob sir , This Officer Maj Abhay is Deadliest soldier , what an officer .... Bravest of Brave 😊 Salute you sir, My uncle was in SL ( Maratha LI) he survived in 2 attacks by LTTE
  • I loved this Podcast. My Mother was only a Lieutenant when she was posted in Pathankot during the 90s when it used to be a hot bed of terrorism. It was her very 1st posting. I am always amused by how casually she sometimes brings up the things she has seen while she was there. Its terrifying. I hear from her too about Pathankot being much more safe, just like J&K now. The Indian armed forces has systematically reduced militancy. So proud to say that I am a daughter of an Army officer, and that too a lady officer from way back in the day.

I was a little boy when the IPKF came to my hometown of Valvettithurai (birth place of Prabaharan) and would hand us food. We thought of them as heroes who had come to end the war. Then when they betrayed and attempt to hand over Kumarppa,Pulanderan and the 10 commanders of the LTTE to the Sinhalese army (they all suicided using cyanide) we knew the IPKF was going to be pulverized. None of that matters, at the end we lost it all, and the last time I visited the North was 40 years behind in comparison the south. My people have a lot of catching up to do. We will persevere none the less. Om Nama Sivaya.
  • @jagadishnpyi
Father trains ..Son faces the very trainees . I can totally echo the feeling since I am from an Army Background family
  • i was blessed to know Maj Walia personally . He was used to come at our place to watch cricket matches he was used to bring his whole paltan his amc friend and fellow officers at our house just to watch cricket match back when TVs were a big deal. His mother and his sister were used to stay at our place whenever they came to meet him. What a guy he was, always charged. Believe me when i tell you every single guy from mess cook to unit gate sentry cried when his death news came. Unit did not even eat for many days as far as i remember.
  • @nitinwayal281
He died 20 days later... If you watch it closely at 31:50, ,Sapru sir is confronting his own emotion. This memories are, haunting to even seasoned, battle hardened soldiers. Salute!
  • @atish05
Bring on more military theme episodes man. We love it. Thank you
  • @skb817
Great episode. I live in the UK (born and bred) with Indian heritage and take a lot of interest in what is happening in India and have a lot of love for the place. Channels like yours and Major Gaurav Arya's are great. For sure in the UK/US they are very good at self-promoting their armed forces to the point they always claim to be the best. Channels like yours with these amazing guests will do wonders to show that Indian soldiers are a match for anyone as we all already know. Good job!
  • @Sherlock03
This man has anger against the system, the government. He is patriotic but not foolish like many others, he has the daring to point out the good and bad of the Indian army of his time as he saw it and of government. Because we all know inside not everything is OK, even the Army has malfunctions, corruption and what not
  • Great 😌 to see the veterans on the show ❤️keep it up Bro.
  • This guy and Mr. Vijaypal Rawat is by far my most favorite military guys I've seen on this channel. Both of them look like genuinely good people. Would love to meet them in person someday.
  • Awesome. Ranveer. I understand the fascination for SF guys. They are the cream of our profession. But the bulk of the Indian Army is not SF. There are arms and services. Talk to them. Handpick people from each Arm, service, regiment and get their perspective. Especially the Motivated ones. It will broaden the perspective of people listening. Thank you. You are doing a great service to our forces. Jai Hind. Special kudos to Abhay as a Direct entry going into the SF.... Made my heart joyful....🙂
  • @TRY_
This episode is heavy, i hope the audience understands the gravity and complexity of what the major is saying !!
  • @atish05
Guys I want to say a big thank you to you as you have made us meet these special peoples. A tough profession. A soldier has to go through so much. Even after serving the emotional stress they have to go through is unimaginable. When sir narrating his experiences his body language shows what he had witnessed. Psychologically it drains you. Hats off to these guys serving our nation without any sort of self-interest.
