I noticed after you beat the game, the moons become a neutral color, and go across worlds. I then decided, I would try to fill up my screen with SO MANY MOONS. Turns out, SO MANY MOONS stops at 150. I went on to collect everything I could find without going to the Odyssey to turn them in, by using Painting Warps. I finally hit the end of everything I could get. Technically, you can just buy a ton of moons and do this, but it felt a lot more worthy finding all these moons legit, and having a stupid 150 icons on my screen for several hours of game time.

(more backstory)
Basically, I fully cleared all the kingdoms before this point, with the exception of maybe 4 moons, then finished the game. After that point, the moons you turn in aren't locked to each level, so I continued to gather all the moons I could possibly get, and turned them in at once. In this 328 moons, I only had about 11 that were purchased as the extra moons you can buy. Maybe a total of 14 were purchased entirely. So most of these were obtained from the bonus moons that become unlocked in post game.

    Someone should make a 10 hour loop of this then at the end when the ship balloon gets bigger, the screen just turns yellow.

    Lol. "New products added to the shop!"? It should have read "ALL products added to the shop!". Kudos for having the patience to build them all up and the discipline not to add them to the Odyssey during the process! I got up to 124 Moons and couldn't resist adding them.

    I tried this once. I was doing really good, I was probably at like 142 moons , but then I did like a jump dive and then I accidentally shook my controller a little bit and it made mario do the spin throw thing, and well...what I didn't know was that that jump dive put me right next to the odyssey. Long story short, I died a little inside that day.
