C.S. Lewis gave millions of kids across the globe a childhood that involved magical wardrobes, fairytale creatures, and some pretty epic characters. In 2005 when Disney decided to adapt The Chronicles of Narnia into a franchise, the film got hype around the world and even went on to rival the Harry Potter franchise. Casting amazing actors like William Moseley, Anna Popplewell, and Peter Dinklage, our favorite characters came to life on screen. But if you were a fan of the book series you might have realized that no matter how epic the actors were...they didn’t exactly resemble what C.S. Lewis wrote in his book. In fact, some were drastically different.

We’re here to show you just how different The Chronicles of Narnia could have been if the casting director decided to stick exactly to the books. Let’s just say, you’re in for a huge surprise. The White Witch was basically an entirely different character and you definitely wouldn't have recognized Prince Caspian. Not to mention Mr. Tumnus was meant to actually have red skin. You heard us! But the question is, did the films or books do it better?

Which character do you think had the most shocking difference? Did getting all this info make you look at the films differently? Maybe it’s time to give the novels a read? Let us know all your royal thoughts in the comment section below. Don’t forget to hit that subscribe button and give this video a thumbs up. Time to climb out of the wardrobe!

They’re literally the only movie siblings I’ve seen that actually look like siblings. They’re fine the way they are.

Skandar is the perfect Edmund, I couldn't imagine anyone else on the role.

I don't mind what the characters or actors look like, i love both versions book and film
  • When Susan don't have long enough hair Director: I was trying to be realistic C.S. Lewis: NO, you were trying to be smart!
  • I’m so happy they went with Ben Barnes for caspian not only is he super good looking and probs the childhood crush of most of us but his charm and acting skills represent caspian perfectly, I can’t imagine anyone else playing caspian then Ben Barnes
  • I actually thought the evil queen looked really tall in the films. From what I’ve seen, I think they used the camera angles and put her on higher grounds above everyone else to give the illusion of greater height rather than just use CGI.
  • The biggest details left from the book is Susan never rides into any single battle. She didn't get the title The Gentle for nothin ahaha.

Did anyone else notice that she is saying pevensie WRONG. AND I think the movie is totally PERFECT the way it is.🙄💔🙄

Considering their age now, they could do The Horse and His Boy. But I gotta say that The Magician's Nephew is my favorite. Simply because we learn how Narnia came to be.
  • Though Lucy was a blonde in the book, the instant I saw her in a trailer I knew who she was.
  • I do care if the difference is gigantic (Percy Jackson movies for example) and/or has a reason (How Harry’s eyes were supposed to be green, a resemblance to his mother). In Narnia’s case, the actors fit the part perfectly. Their hair may be different from the book, but the “vibe” they have fits into the characters. I don’t think I could imagine Narnia with other actors, maybe I’m just too attached to my childhood memories haha. I remember seeing this when it first came out at the cinema, I miss those times.
  • I remember being a child attending a costume party and me and my brother went as Peter and Edmund and the host of the party introduced me as Peter Pan even though I kept saying I was King Peter from The Chronicles of Narnia.

Lucy: I have healing cordial! I can heal anybody! Aslan's breath: Hold my beer

Narnia literally was my childhood. I was always an imagination freak and to this date I fall asleep by building imaginary worlds in my mind. Don’t judge me. It makes me happy.

Anna prolly the only actress that ever takes my breath away coz she's super gorgeous and I was wishing to be like her. Also William is like my huge crush at that time.
  • C.S Lewis never described the characters . The illustrations were the imagination of the illustrator, not C.S Lewis.

You'll be shocked to find out- Me whose read the whole series 10+ times: Um. No.

I read the books long before the movies, but I have to say the first film lion the witch and the wardrobe was a very good adaption to the book. The other two I’m afraid sort of strayed a bit too far.
