Here I follow a method found online to fix a baofeng uv5r charger I broke by connecting it to the wrong charger and reversed the polarity aka knackered it. It has the advantage that now any 9 or 12v charger can be used not the exact voltage needed by the previous circuit. It can also be plugged into a car lighter socket. I think the voltage range is about 9v to 18v but check the specs of the module first. It eventually cut off charging at 8.4 volts after a couple of hours with a blue light as expected.

module is TP5100 Lithium charger circuit from eBay about 3 pounds gbp

Short version is :
-Solder set jumpers to enable 8.4 volts
-Put a single 0.2 ohm resistor on current limiting pads
-connect to existing board but snap off useless part of circuit or cut positive track.
