Prince - Purple Rain at Inglewood, 2011

I may be wrong but I don't think there is a set in stone type studio version of this song other than the movie soundtrack but that even has the live stage sound.....If there isn't a studio version that to me is just another brilliant move by Prince!

To see my former friend, John Blackwell, behind the drums…fulfilling his lifelong goal of being a world touring drummer with a A1 band… it breaks my heart…to know that John AND prince are no longer with us… when I was at school ( Berklee school of music, Boston, Massachusetts)) I used to sit directly next to John…he was on scholarship from Columbia, sc…to see him fulfill his musical dreams with prince is why I’ll play music til the day that I die…may John and prince rest in peace . I hope that his daughter Jia , is getting all the love and support that she needs and deserves…unbelievable purple rain rendition. Peace.

Forty years later, and this song still gives me goosebumps and I get all emotional. The greatest song ever written by the greatest artist ever.

I had to stop what I was doing and watch and listen and cry and wish this precious man had not left.

Mortality is inevitable. Weve had great legends pass on and we just accept and cherish the sweet and ever lasting memories- play their songs whenever we feel like which puts a smile on our faces and enjoy the moment. BUT PRINCE is the only one I wish were still alive. Cant explain in words the feeling. Miss this legend so much.😢❤

My son graduated from HS to this song. They played it as they walked out of the stadium, powerful holding back tears.

He just oozed class, style and genius. Didn't even look like he had to try. Absolute one off. RIP Prince.

This was 2011, who knew we would only have him 5 more years. This coming Wednesday would have been his 65th birthday. Happy Birthday Your Royal Badness❤

This is the closest example of the spiritual experience seeing Prince live on a Great night with a great crowd !! Experienced it at the Rio Las Vegas for Free. Having walked in through the out door lol Great Show. If you've experienced what I'm talking about you know. If not I'm truly sorry for your loss.

The hard work to achieve maximum potential like this no longer exists.
