Welcome to Day 2 back in Korea. I woke up in Gimpo after a wonderful, much-needed restful night's sleep. I go eat some delicious Texas BBQ at Blue Smoke, which was just down the street. Then I made my way to the border to get a glimpse of North Korea from the bike path.

I then wanted to make my way toward Ganghwa Island, going along the DMZ and checking out all the sights along the way. I found an observatory that you can go to, so I decided to go check it out. I couldn't ride my bike up there, which I'm glad because it was steep, so I had to walk. I tried my luck at hitchhiking, and after a couple of drivebys, I got lucky, and someone picked me up.

The observatory was cool; you get an excellent look into North Korea and a view of their "Propaganda town."

I then kept heading towards Ganghwa. I met many interesting people, stopped at more sights along the DMZ, and eventually made my way to my campsite to call home.

If possible, Try the Donghae(Ease Sea) Beach Course, one of Korea's beautiful cycling courses. I would like to recommend the course from Gangneung to Sokcho and from Sokcho to Goseong. The road is not a difficult. Anyway you are a cool biker!!! I'm jealous~ I hope to ride with you if I get the chance. * Note that, Late July to early August is the hottest time in Korea. (Temperatures reach up to 39°C to 40°C(102°F~104°F) degrees.) This is the time when most deaths from heatstroke occur, so cycling should be minimized. Be careful of very hot weather. Be especially careful of the scorching sun during the day...

나도 현장에서 우즈베키스탄분들이랑 같이 일하는데 이분들 엄청 순수하고 착함... 저 사람들은 혼자 한국와서 오직 가족들을 위해 일하는거라 착할수밖에 없음. 그 분들은 매일 아들, 딸 사진 보면서 일하는데 내가 볼 때마다 마음이 아픔.

00:05:58 닉이 바베큐 가게에서 텍사스 사인 보고 어글리하다고 한 이유는, 오렌지색 뿔 달린 소가 그려진 Texas 표시가 텍사스 주립대 (오스틴) 로고이기 때문. 텍사스에는 주립대가 여럿 있고 서로 라이벌관계. 그래서 닉의 모교와 라이벌인 오스틴 텍사스 주립대 표시 보고 한마디 한 것.

그동안 좋은 분들께서 슈퍼챗도 많이 쏴주시고 했으니 닉빙수씨 더운 날씨에 먹는 것도 1차 방문 때보다는 좀 더 든든하게 맛있는 거 잘 챙겨 드시길 바람. (솔직히 부산-서울 종주때는 먹는 게 너무 부실해서 보기 안쓰럽더라만...) 크게 부담없이 텍사스 바베큐 먹고 시청자 구독자들에게 감사를 표현하는 모습도 아주 보기 좋고 흐뭇했음. 👍👍👍
