Ever walk into a small computer shop and think “who is buying all these old products?” Well we did, and that weighed on us. Sleepless nights turned into exhausting days of wondering “just what is in that small computer shop?” It became such a problem that we found ourselves with no other option than to walk in, close the door behind us, and tell the owner “we’ll take everything you’ve got”. That’s what we did. We were forced to, if you really think about it. Just what are we going to get? Will there be RTX 4090s, or old Voodoos? 13th gen i9s or Socket 1 486s? Thunderbolt 4 cables or serial port connectors?

Linus: I'm a tough negotiator Owner: This useless shit is 3 billion dollars Linus: Fine, but we have to gamble and make it 6 billion dollars
  • @foosington
telling linus about an indestructible laptop is a good way to make it destructible
  • Linus could make a whole channel for these type of videos. It does a great service to the community and he might find some amazing old tech. It could be called “Looting with Linus” Excellent video
  • @SuphiKaner
I'd love to see a part 2 after he has restocked the shop to see what it looks like now

A local mom and pop shop repaired my first gaming PC in 1998. I went back and forth to the shop when I needed weird cables and had questions. They were always very helpful and without them I don't think I would've ever started building my own PCs.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS EPISODE! I have literally had to clean out multiple shops, finding new inbox ancient tech, and various “rare” items. And although I knew most was obsolete and crap, it was still oddly emotional seeing so much unused tech that STILL HAS value to that one person in need. I’m currently going through a nuclear plant closure that’s been in existence since the 50’s, and seeing the history reminds me to: Always remember your roots, the products that got you to where you are today, and the diehards who continue to keep these old systems alive. Thanks Linus and Team.

This had to be a huge help to this guy. Imagine having tens of thousands of dollars tied up in inventory over the past 20 years, with lots of it now being obsolete and no hope of ever getting your money back on it. Linus just helped this guy keep his doors open for who knows how many more years. Really loved this video, guys. I'd love to see a follow-up looking closer at some of the older items, maybe get a intern to inventory and add up Ebay prices for EVERYTHING and see how close the total actually was to what a re-seller could get on Ebay.

Thank you LTT + Ridge for helping out a mom and pop shop. Don’t let them die out.
  • @Killertomato84
i was a little worried in the first minute or so cuz keith just looked like he wasn't having it, then he was totally in on the bit and it was nothing but joy watching from there.
  • @GreenDudeHC
This dude is awesome btw. During COVID i got stuck in vancouver for 2 months due to needing vaccine to fly home. I went in this little shop close to my AIRBNB and asked him how much to rent a monitor/power supply/keyboard for a couple months. He'd never had someone request that before but he agreed and cut me a fair deal. Glad to see him featured here.

BlackLab! This was my local mom & pop shop. Keith is a great guy and I'm really glad to see he's still there. Also glad to see you're buying up all his stock Linus! And Keith isn't lying, my dad is one of those real people who actually wants that really old technology and drops in regularly to check out what's there.
  • @TyFrost
This is my best Linus video, this is the sincerest thing I have seen this channel do, giving back to the tech community, especially after COVID has destroyed so many businesses. Good on you Linus!
  • @jbryan8864
@2:31 Can confirm our tech and engineers for AT&T still use these toughbooks! Not the installers but the guys actually out running and repairing cable.
  • @Stusel
Man, gotta say: One of the best LTT videos of all time. I love it. The charisma of the shopowner, the bantering with the crew, the games. Certified GOAT
  • @SlevinKalevera
As someone who owns a small shop like this: maaaaaaan I know how much you made this dude's whole life. Thank you for being you, LTT. ❤️
  • @SK1T20
Nice to see someone helping local business owners. We need more people like this. Rather than pranks - giving mom money to friends for challenges. Helping those who are the heart of working class. Gained my respec and subscribed.
