The final track in my Debut EP y'all!! It's finally all out!! thank you so much for all your support whilst I released this body of work, I am so humbled and blown away with the response thank you thank you THANK YOU!

This song is about people that present as angels and seem to charm everyone around them but have a real nasty streak and tend to bring down others to bolster themselves and how those people will eventually fall off their pedestals. Its also about misogynists tee hee

Lyrics:

Baby can't you see the wind has changed and you'll be falling'
Baby can't you see the wind has changed and you'll be falling'
Baby can't you see the wind has changed and you'll be falling'
Baby can't you see the wind has changed and you'll be falling'

Painted grin and confidence so willing to spar
You walk round like you own the place, I know who you are

Have to be the best at everything that you do
I'd recognise you anywhere it's clear from my view

So omniscient
All around you are fools
Blinded by your pride your swallowed up by your rule

Head of your pack
Your making everyone bow
It's biblical the way I see this story play out

A Serpent
A Reptile
It's clear as day I see the snake through the smile
The likeness
Uncanny
Your scales are shining out there for miles
Better be careful how
You go about this now
Forgiveness isn't how you're renowned

I'd watch your back is all
That ledge is pretty tall
And you're looking quite a bit like
The Devil 'fore the fall

Baby can't you see the wind has changed and you'll be falling'
Baby can't you see the wind has changed and you'll be falling'

Beneath your feet is holy ground for us all to kiss
But watch your step or you'll descend into a power trip

Make yourself big by making them all feel small
And for the longest time you made me the smallest of all

I won't move a muscle
You won't answer to me
When Reckoning arrives
You can beg on you knees

You rule absolute
But absolute will rule you
A king of lavish lack,
Sovereign of fewer and few

A Serpent
A Reptile
It's clear as day I see the snake through the smile
The likeness
Uncanny
Your scales are shining out there for miles
Better be careful how
You go about this now
Forgiveness isn't how you're renowned

I'd watch your back is all
That ledge is pretty tall
And you're looking quite a bit like
The Devil 'fore the fall

The Devil 'fore the fall
The Devil 'fore the fall
The Devil 'fore the fall
The Devil

Midas touch
Seems a rush
Until you starve to death
Weakness you won't expose
But Emperor you wear no clothes

Bring down
Sweet Eve
You'll make a goddess small
Piously scrambling
To finally feel tall

Are you prepared to face off with the divine
Do you have any clue who it is you undermine?

You'll meet your maker with the words that you say.
There's a chill in the air better wrap up warm for judgement day

I am the thief in the night
I am the poems they write
I am the one that you had better keep within your sight

I am the watcher that waits
I am the server of fate
I am the prowler waiting patient as you fall for the bait

A Serpent
A Reptile
Why so sad? sweetheart let's see a smile
The likeness
Uncanny
Call the mobs it's time for a trial
Better be careful how
You go about this now
Forgiveness isn't how you're renowned

I'd watch your back is all
That ledge is pretty tall
And you're looking like
The Devil 'fore the fall

"As far as I'm concerned, you fail to understand. Your kind is far too aggressive and far too unproductive. If I let you enter my position, you'd almost certainly rip the system apart. If you really wanted it, you should have displayed the necessary attributes in the past. It is simply too late."

I'm loving the visuals in this. So often this kind of abusive figure is paired with the demand for a victim to "grow some thicker skin." The sad irony is that if they do, then they only take more damage, and what gets through has greater impact. A statue shattering where skin only bruises. The reversal of such a scenario is gratifying

i love the flicker of doubt in the woman's face at 4:24, cause even when you've escaped your abuser's grasp it's easy to fall into those feelings of guilt. "i'd watch your back is all / that ledge is pretty tall / and you're looking quite a bit like the devil 'fore the fall" is a line that scratched an itch in my brain too, LOL just very yummy lyrically

kind of reminds my of someone who dates or marries who they think is a nice person but turns out to be severely abusive which is why the girl starts turning into stone. the longer she's around him, the more stuck she becomes then when he tries to finish her off, a friend or stranger who see's this happening saves her and makes her stronger then the abuser.

I like the medusa symbolism with the snakes and statues, I bet the devil's gaze is as cold as ice and would chill the spines of anyone who'd gaze upon it. I also like how at the start she seems so happy and her gaze is focused on him, almost like she's in love, but as the story continues it gets darker and more grim like the devil 'fore the Fall.

Oh wow, it's great! I love how the image changed of him sitting up high first with his siblings but then they started turning away from him

This is fantastic. The story of the abusive, controlling relationship being a biblical allegory is really well done. I loved the line asking HIM to smile while he falls, like he does to everyone else. Also loved how Eve(I'm assuming eve) looked regretful leaving him there for a second, cause yeah, relationships like those are hard to leave. I loved all the statue and roman architecture symbolism, reminds the listener of something that used to be great, used to be powerful. Your voice is fantastic, your songs are creative and interesting, and I love the idea of animated music videos. All in all, LOVED this ep and I hope you continue to make your music.

"For the longest time you made me the smallest of all" hits so hard. Not just the words, but the way that it's sung is incredible. I love this song... and I will be watching this on repeat for a few months. Well done!

this reminds me of that one sound that's like "the devil can be beautiful cause he used to be god's favorite" or smth like that
  • People who want to pretend to be an angel don't have wings of their own, so they fashion themselves a pair of wings made of wax, then they think they can charm the Sun. Little do they know, that attempt will spell their downfall.
  • I find it fascinating how, while Lydia's own character is in both of these Eve stories, she's not the main character in either. She's an observer, and once the side of good gets going, she plays a supporting role. I don't have much to say about it, but it is interesting.
  • Your song is so beautiful, the artist worked so well on the piece and there's definitely symbolism of abusers and their victims. They don't care who they hurt and feel they're entitled to anyone to make themselves better but in the end once someone stands up to them they're small like a kindergarten bully.
  • First an Eve song, then a Devil song, I wonder if we're going to get an Adam song; maybe Eve comforting him after the loss of Abel to Cain, telling him it's okay to mourn and cry? I mean, every depiction of Adam always carries the tones of stereotypical masculinity, to the point of toxicity when everyone forgets he was also the first father, in the traditional sense, meaning he also had the first heart break of losing a child so tragically. To me, it seems like the perfect setting for a really impactful song and story, especially with the potential message of grieving and it being okay to cry
  • I love this because like she thinks that he’s just a regular man but he he’s the devil so like it’s different so then when judgment day comes he sorry but then he should be sorry in the beginning for tricking her and that’s why I love this like like we need more we videos like this. I love you content and I want to see you in person so bad.
