These announcers love Lexi Rodriguez, talking about her all night as Emma Halter puts on a libero masterclass.

i feel like the announcers were kinda biased??? After Becca allick got a kill, they went crazy… and bergmark had a similar kill like two plays later and they said nothing💀
  • @dubzzzz2994
Halter, Barnes and Akana needed more regonicition. They put on a master class in passing and defense
  • Texas absolutely dominated. That was fun. Their service pressure agsinst both Wisconsin and Nebraska was insane
  • I’ve watched this game probably 20 times and the announcers just make me so much happier that Texas swept Nebraska. They couldn’t stop fangirling even when Nebraska was losing miserably, and it was so annoying.

Every time Nebraska got a point, it was a huge deal. When Texas went on an 11-0 run with 4 aces they had the same energy as Nebraska’s 3-0 run right before.

Ella doesn’t set a perfect ball, they’re all “that ball was just too low for ___” and “Swindle needed to get her feet under the ball,” but Bergen Reilly doesn’t even attempt to get second contact on 1/3 of the balls and they say nothing. Also, they’re talking about how she played on varsity in the 8th grade for 20 seconds like that means something in the Championship. Ella had 5 kills and they’re not hyping her up that much, but Bergen does one good deep corner dump and they’re all “Texas knew she likes to do that, they knew it was coming, and still couldn’t get it”.

They hyped up Lexi Rodriguez, saying Texas wouldn’t serve at her because she was too good, and she got aced a couple points later. Akana, Halter, and Barnes laid out for every ball, got assists, had amazing hitter coverage, and all got at least one ace, and they barely mentioned them at all.

Even when they hyped up Jenna Wenaas, they couldn’t stop mentioning that she wasn’t playing super well early in the season, and usually not in a “look how far she’s come” way. Harper Murray shanks almost every ball served or hit at her, and they talk about how amazing she is when she gets one kill.

There was not a single point in the game where they weren’t obviously rooting for Nebraska. The refs are a whole other conversation but bias like this shouldn’t be allowed from announcers.

People forget that Texas was ranked #1 pre-season. They recruited a top setter (#2 I believe) and returned everyone vital to their win last year except Eggleston and Fleck, who were adequately replaced. I would even argue that Skinner is better than Eggleston. This is not that underdog story everyone thinks it is. They just needed to put the pieces together.
  • After analyzing this game very hard, I noticed that Texas almost RARELY served the ball to Lexi Rodriguez. and the times they did serve her, she hadn’t passed a ball in i don’t know how many plays, so they probably served her because she was cold and not in a groove. you could tell because she shanked a couple balls and after they served her, they would serve a different passer. Texas really did their homework for this match.

And also for John Cook to call out Asjia O’Neal for being apart of Team USA and getting more practice, uhhh sir, hate to break it to you but it wasn’t just Asjia getting the aces. Maddi, Ella, Carissa and Keilei were getting their aces too
  • Texas served Nebraska a big slice of humble pie. Nebraska was too full of themselves Texas was the champions to beat!!!!

Embarrassing performance by Nebraska. Can’t believe they didn’t show up with a record breaking audience and viewership. Congrats to Texas for going back to back! Legendary!
  • @joand3792
This game is my #1 favorite re-watch. I love seeing Nebraska being so cocky in set 1, then progressively looking more & more like lost puppies as the match goes on 😂😂
Bonus points for Katie George's obvious anti-Texas bias. I think she wanted Nebraska to win more than Nebraska did. Womp Womp!! 🤣
  • @MOBROOKS
    TEXAS IS INCREDIBLE!

This game was the most dominant finals performance I’ve ever seen!
  • @RatchetRalph
These commentators gassing Nebraska as if this wasn’t the worst performance in NCAA history. Nebraska had all that media, all that coverage, and still… gave one of the most embarrassing showings I have ever seen. The commentators didn’t speak to how phenomenal the passing & defense was on Texas side. STFU!!!!! Halter & Akana put on a clinic in passing & defense. Nebraska should study them and happy Akana got her Natty against her former team. Boom Kanani.

Skinner and O'Neal are incredible players. Skinner - the way she elevates and swings with such power is so beautiful to watch. I found myself yelling "boom" on all of her kills. What a cannon!
  • @bradsimpson9396
Since I started watching women’s college volleyball, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Nebraska get completely dominated from the service line like that. They better work on reception next year if they want to make it back.

    Congrats Texas
  • @RATOLICIOUSXX
I think that at the beginning of the season, the Texas losses were caused because they were missing the leadership that Eggleston carried the year prior. It took her a couple of games to ease in, but Skinner rose to the occasion. Her play is undeniably elite, and her poise lead to leadership. She has the “killer mentality”. Madi knows how to win and she clearly raises the bar for those around her everyday.
  • The refs was on straight bs. Throwing yellow cards and red cards. The long rally in the first set, the middle litterally touch the ball three times and they called net violation on Texas. Refs were not cooperative at all. And Nebraskas cockiness got them COOKED!
  • @blehlee6745
NGL after seeing Texas at the beginning of the season, i had it in my head that they were gonna have a early tournament exit. No way in my head did i ever think they’d make an 11-0 run, knocking out the 3 #1 seeds on their way to a consecutive championship win. Great perseverance Texas.
  • @simone9723
Nebraska broke from the pressure of Texas’ serve and never recovered
  • @deborah2878
Texas dominated, showed their perseverance this year. Deserved it!
  • The refs missing that double call on Bekka Allick should be enough to get them fired. There’s no way you’re not cheating or blind if you don’t call that, and whichever it is, you shouldn’t be allowed to continue reffing
