In high school in the late 2000s i remember stumbling onto this on MTV France all mix pop alt playlist, falling in love with Kenna and burying his music soon after. Very underrated. He was part of the Pharrell NERD Missy Elliott Kanye Kid Cudi crew of artists who was so representative of a black multi influence indie influence artist at the time when people like me couldn’t get enough of seeing people with similar interests who looked like me because it was so rare then in mainstream media except for the former i mentioned above. Growing up in Gabon. france and Switzerland i feel like artists such as Kenna had a bigger visibility compared to their native USA and kids like me worldwide were hungry for more of that❤

For anyone who appreciates Kenna & his music, he shortly went live on instagram on May 30, 2022! He shared a snippet of a song aswell as the lyrics for said song! It was an amazing + exciting moment, blink of an eye experience!! I think hes going to start releasing music again, so be prepared to support when he does :D

I heard this at the H&M a week ago and Shazam-ed it. It's like 80s New Wave mixed with dance, like if Robert Smith from The Cure decided to get down for a minute. Thumbs up from this old GenXer!

I am quite happy to have been among the lucky Gen Y'ers back in 2007-2008 who found a copy at Target. Music makes good memories out of the bad times I had to deal with back then. Nothing stays permanent. Thank goodness we got sophisticated music like Kenna.
