Denver Broncos Coaches Are BLOWN AWAY By New Addition

Published 2024-06-25
Sean Payton, Vance Joseph, and other Denver Broncos Coaches have been blown away by one of the newer additions to this squad. The Denver Broncos have to find a replacement for Josey Jewell who joined the Carolina Panthers in the offseason, and going into the year I was nearly 100% certain that would be Jonas Griffith. A new report from ESPN and Jeff Legwold indicates that Cody Barton may make it a battle for the other inside linebacker who will play alongside Alex Singleton. In this video we break down Cody and Jonas and who might be the better fit in this new attack style defense.

Let me know in the comments who you think wins that battle and who would be on your Mount Rushmore of Denver Bronco Defenders!

Steve Atwater, Von Miller, Karl Mecklenburg, and it's a tie between Randy Gradishar and Champ Bailey. Honorable mention Dennis Smith. Dennis Smith and Steve Atwater were so nasty together and put so much fear into offenses.

  • I had Cody Barton penciled in as a potential starter to replace Jewell when they traded for him. His athleticism is off the chart, & his tackle production is very high. The knock on him for his PFF grade has been that he takes bad angles & make mistakes. However...two factors influence that; 1) that's a function of coaching, & 2) he sat behind two All-Pro linebackers in Seattle so until the last 2 years has had little chance to get on the field. He played well down the stretch last year, which is probably what got Sean Payton's attention. When you dig into the player acquisitions Payton made in New Orleans over time, one consistent pattern emerges. He trades for players who underachieved in the past & coaches them up. Generally the teams that traded players to him gave up on them a little too quickly, which might be the case here. BTW...Legwold is a real sports journalist, one of the few left.

Didnt know Griffith was like that. Hope he performs and that he’s what we need. Broncos have so many athletic defensive players and sleepers.
