Wow! Dad nailed it about there is an image that people will gravitate toward. Absolutely 👍

I make it simple for you, Old man is Land cruiser. He is a man of fine taste probably eating best Bourbon and Steaks. Truck King is 4-Runner man. Without a doubt the king but still discovering about the world. He eats fried chicken and beer.

TK, The big bonus of the Land Cruiser is the more generous headroom. I find it frustrating that Toyota managed to make the interior of the new 4Runner so cramped. 🤨The fact Toyota has given us more 4X4 choices has to be a good thing. Now let's hope they give us an affordable 4X4 choice with their new FJ Cruiser. 🤞

Best reviewers on the internet period thanks boys 🇨🇦🤠

Great video as always. I really like hearing the Steve and Dad conversations. They each bring something different.
  • Yeah, I prefer the round headlamps but it’s a bit too barebones. Would prefer the LC trim with the round headlamps.

Born in ‘58 also - Old Guys Rule👍😎!!

It’s actually cheaper in Canada Current USD to CAD is 1.38 Which means the 55950 USD 1958 would be 77200CAD

Father's getting at the aspirational reality of commercialism. "I'm a 4-runner guy" "I'm a Land Cruiser guy." I'm a chevy guy. I'm a GMC diesel guy. Great work guys! Always looking forward to new content.

As always, great video, great convo and points at the end. Thank you. The talk really comes down to, especially when talking about the top trims, the Land Cruiser vs 4Runner vs GX if you have some money to play around with. Pricing nowadays continues to make it hard for us Canadians, sadly.

Great overview gentlemen, great to see the Canadian prices, not cheap but it will be interesting to see the prices compared to the runner and the GX

Howard, you are very fortunate to do this with your family

I agree with dad. Most people buy their vehicles based on their lifestyle and life image. Same reason why a doctor or a lawyer would buy a lexus LX rather than a Hyundai SUV. And it's not because they cannot afford a Hyundai nor cannot drive a Hyundai but rather their lifestyles expect or even call for it. Toyota knows this and that's why they balance marketing and technical details hence making them the biggest car manufacturer in the world.

Infotainment screen is done a lot better in the landcruiser than the new 4runner
  • I love round headlights. 1958 was a great year Howard, because my parents were born that year too.

I’ve had both. New 1970 Landcruiser ( fantastic) and new 1987 4Runner (underpowered 4 banger). I like the looks of the new 4Runner much better. I still have my 2000 Tacoma, bought new, and is the BEST vehicle I’ve ever owned.
