In the ACW-era army the group of men who operated a field gun were known as a detachment, not a crew. A crew was only in the navy. If you want to be more accurate with your commands, 2 guns were known as a section. So as a junior officer you’d command the left or right piece of your section. In practice, most individual guns were micromanaged by the chief of piece who was a sergeant and typically mounted.

Just curious-do the actual artillerist tables inside the caisson lids apply? The level of detail the developers paid attention to tells me they probably made the distance tables work also.

Spotter needs to know the difference between fuse time too low and a hit. Kinda hard when you're new, but look for impact then explosion to be sure. Gg
