Moomin tells Snufkin he'll miss him very much and ask him to say goodbye before he goes so he can wish him well. It makes him Terribly sad when he doesn't get to. Snufkin says that's why he leaves without saying anything but promises this time that he'll leave after Moomin goes to sleep and return before he wakes up. A splendid plan, therefore Moomin won't be so lonely and wont pine after Snufkin because it'll be as if he never left ♡
