I was fortunate enough to have seen them live several times in the 70's. ELP is my favorite Prog band, and this is one of my favorite lesser known songs. The "Brain Salad Surgery" Lp is a classic. Karn Evil #9 is a must listen. I love seeing younger generations love the music that I grew up on. Keith Emerson, Greg Lake and Carl Palmer pure genius.
-
Palmer seems to be overshadowed, he is so good. The fastest drummer I ever saw and I saw a lot.
-
If you like Greg Lake's voice listen to him sing Epitaph when he was with King Crimson. As for Keith Emerson, he is incomparable. Try the songs Tarkus, Karn Evil 9(all parts), and Trilogy.

The favorite band of my youth. I saw them several times, and they were always amazing.
-
I love ELP. Their prog music in the 70s is unreal.
-
My favourite band, saw them live and will never forget it. Incredibly talented musicians.

This band and the music are simply brilliant. I am grateful to have got to know them through my parents in the 80s. But what is also brilliant are the attempts at visual effects. An oscilloscope was used for this, which is actually used for measuring in electronics. One from Tektronix is used in the video. The best and most expensive of its time! The image was overlaid with the actual camera recording. Both this device and the Hammond organs work with masses of electron tubes. My world! :) At the end, Keith Emerson reaches into the organ and apparently flicks the reverb springs to create this whipping, wobbling sound. Simply awesome!

"Me? I'm just a lawnmower. You can tell it by the way I walk!" (sorry I HAD to quote Genesis', "I Know What I Like" last line...😂) I love your reactions to great songs like this one! Your enjoyment is contagious. Ciao from Italy

I remember sitting in my friends house in 1969 listening to their first album and marveling at the fact that it was the first time we had ever heard a Moog synthesizer
-
Saw them live in the mid-70's. Hands down the best concert I have ever been to.
-
One of the "Greatest" Classic Prog bands ever !!! : D R.I.P Keith Emerson (3/2016') Greg Lake (12/2016')
-
Still waiting for someone to review what I think their best. Emerson Lake and Palmer Pirates Live Montreal 1977. 17 minutes in the life of Pirates and there are vocals. Saw them live way back when.
-
Great reaction!!! Love your facial expressions!! You would absolutely LOVE “Pirates” from their Works Vol 1 album. The orchestra, lyrics, Lakes voice! Highly recommend you try that one!!!
-
Virtuosity at each instrument
-
Good lord! Never saw this performance before. What BRILLIANT musicians they were/are. So sad to lose the amazing Keith and Greg. They don't make 'em like that anymore...
-
Saw them do this live. With Greg wearing that shirt! Stood right in front of him. AMAZING ARTISTS!
-
RIP Keith Emerson and Greg Lake
-
The depth and dynamics of theses guys is amazing. You have just scratched the surface. I like how you appreciate them.
-
Loved your reaction to this phenomenal group of musicians. You really should check out their live performances more! I gotta chuckle of your comment "Is this what Greg Lake looks like?" because I fell in love with his voice before I saw him, then I was like "Oh wow!" Just to be in the audience listening to this band would have been epic. And yes... That is what Greg Lake looks like!
