Some of the best things about living in the Czech Republic

Published 2023-02-06
I made a video about the five things I like most about living in the Czech Republic a few years ago. Many things have changed since then, especially myself as a person. As we grow and change what we like or dislike can also change + shift. Here is the 2023 edition of the best things about living in the Czech Republic.

  • Ahoj Ariel... The guláš, the svíčková, the segedínský guláš, the smažený sýr, the řízek... you are one of us now...
  • "It's not that North..." Excuse me, Prague is more North than Winnipeg Candada. The reason why we don't have that much snow here is called the Gulf Stream. But you're right, weather here during the Winter is a piece of crap.

Hi, although I am Czech and a man, I've been to places and I'd add also safety to the list. But maybe you as a foreigner and a woman might feel differently.

Buchticky! As a Czech person that has lived for 25 years abroad, I now realize that it is a little bit unorthodox to have that for lunch 😀

I've leaving the USA in a couple of years. Most likely places are Buenos Aires, Spain, or Prague.

I would like to mention that there is snow during most of the winter season in most places apart from larger towns like Prague. So wintertime is not so gloomy for the majority of the Czech population.
  • Was met someone from Czech in my country, and I’m deeply in love of how they love nature a lot. Wishing could find someone like him from Czech ❤💔

Good to know about the expat situation. Was there last October and am going back next Spring. Californian.

I live in Brno near the river and hell... tons of mosquitos here, i hate that freaking bzzzz sound when u are falling asleep and it wakes you up.

You nailed it. Summes are nice, winters are awful, and the country is well connected internationally and nationally BUT the best thing for me is not speaking the language so that I never understand what people are talking about around me haha. Ignorance is bliss kinda thing

Its a funny thing when I lived there even in the dead of winter I'd just have to take the tram to the castle... walk up the stairs... there was a special warmth I felt just being around so many people. I know people don't much like the tourists, but for me... sometimes its nice seeing so many people enjoying Prague and surrounded by the beauty of it is just something special. I hope to return one day (as soon as my wife agrees), at least to retire. I'd love to live in Prague again but I think there so many great towns all around the country. I'm not going to say any names as its not mentioned as much as Cesky Krumlov or other more popular towns... I gotta keep my secrets and hope no one else makes videos of them! :D

Even though prices went up in Czech, it's still far cheaper than America I've lived in Prague for 3 years, I visit the US and wouldn’t want to go back home, the culture in America is pretty bougie aka a super materialistic country

have you tried Buřty na pivu??? (sausage with lard-onion-tomato-red paprika--beer sauce and fresh bread

Ariel, you are definitely a CZECH now. "THE NATURE"! That's something very czech, you've already adopted, among other things.
