Just to clear things up a bit after watching many wuxia dramas growing up. When Zhou Zishu calls Wen Kexing his shidi, it doesn't mean he sees him as a brother. He and Wen Kexing were trained in martial arts under the same master. That's why Zhou Zishu is referred to as shixiong (elder brother/senior) because he's older than Wen Kexing and Wen Kexing is his shidi (younger brother/junior). Romantic martial arts couples often start from these kinds of relationships.

If you look closely, Zhou Zishu and Wen Kexing's foreheads touch after the first hug scene. Zhou Zishu's bond to Wen Kexing is so strong that regardless of whether or not he remembers Wen Kexing's mom doing the forehead touch to comfort Zhen Yan as a child, he did it out of pure instinct and love.
