This was sent to me by one of you guys and it's a microwaved iPhone 14 pro. I've never seen nor fixed a phone that has been microwaved so I'm not sure how repairable this is.

I'll be continuing this series where I do specific repairs for free. Special thanks to Ugreen for agreeing to sponsor this video, they helped make this all possible. Links are all in the description for their products, some pretty crazy deals at the moment.(Up to 50% Off).
  • @kelvinasante.
Thats actually very kind of you to do the repair for free considering the amount of time you spent and all that Great work PRG!
  • @TheGlitchyMario
The interposer is the thing that connects the thing between the silicon and the solder pads on the chip, and the crystal I believe is for system clock cycles

I'm guessing the metal all around acted as a shield, and the energy only managed to pass through the gaps (that are specifically made to let RF energy pass through, like wifi), so it only damaged the things close to the antenna gaps. Super interesting! RF energy "likes" corners so that would explain the burnt/melted things close to the corners too, it got hot!

I'm amazed the 14 Pro managed to survive 30 seconds in a (Possibly High power setting) Microwave!
  • @monkeybeasts
you learn something everyday with broken phones and these videos. keep up the good work
  • @ErnestJay88
This dude literally done what 4chan pranks decades ago, i remember in the early 2010s 4chan posted a prank "microwaving you phone can charge the battery from 0 - 100% for less than 2 minutes"
  • @LeDrew8
Nice one man. How kind of you to repair it for free. God bless 🙏
  • This fits one of PRG's favourite lines: STOPPP!!! What the hell are you doing😂
  • @mayonags8239

  • @CooperKoepp
Man I love your tenacity! I also really like your shorts and the presentation of your videos.
  • @Sir_Uncle_Ned
All that shielding around the assorted components acted like a faraday cage and diverted the microwaves away from the critical components
  • @dawn1berlitz
i hope in the future microwaves can be designed to automatically stop as soon as something that is metallic or metallic like that isnt suppose to be in microwave and it would beep loudly with something like ERR on display
  • @srikargr6647

  • @zeph_os
This repair makes me wish I had coughed up extra for a fully rebuilt chassis for my 11. I had cracked the back glass and did a housing swap. I tried going cheap and only had some of the components like the buttons and charging coil installed, but I didn't have the rest of the cables pre-installed and I had the same bootlooping issue once I put the phone back together. What would've costed me an additional $20 instead cost me the phone lol
